Estranged Reality Posted July 12, 2012 Author Share Posted July 12, 2012 episode two was a vast improvement over the first one (some of the worst television i've ever seen), and felt similar to brand's old radio show in terms of how he is quite verbally gifted and can ramble on at length about politics, sex, whatever - but it also can be a bit much, and the environment is a bit claustrophobic and doesn't work to his advantage (his awkward sidekick is also, well, awkward). i'd say the show could have potential but doesn't know whether it wants to be in the style of a late-night talk show or something more edgy - i guess if it goes for the latter more as it progresses it could end up being pretty good, because it would definitely be unlike anything else on TV. it's basically just brand exploring different topics (last week was the concept of democracy) but i think he'd benefit from having guests.
