volcano62
I remember running to a local record store on November 23, 1993 to get GNR's new album after school. I also remember being VERY disapointed with the songs. (Obviously today I like a few tracks off this cover album)What tracks could have made this cover album better and more successful? I wish it featured these tracks which shows the bands real influences such as:Back In The Saddle - AerosmithImmigrant Song - Led ZepLight My Fire - The DoorsWhole Lotta Rosie - AC/DCBrown Sugar or Dead Flowers or Jumpin Jack Flash - Rolling StonesThe Wall - Pink FloydGo Your Own Way - Fleetwood MacTie Your Mother Down - QueenLa Grange - ZZ TopImagine - John LennonCome Together - The BeatlesBorn to Be Wild - SteppenwolfMore Than A Feeling - BostonWhat other songs? Jakey Styley
Most of that is good. I'd hate to see them do More Than a Feeling and Go Your Own Way though. They did a great job at making the songs sound like GNR. I like the album.
maynard
i don't get it, if tsi didn't show some of their real influences, they wouldn't have released it.

The only songs I can listen to are down on the farm, black leather, look at your game and hair of the dog
Kill Devil Hill
I think they wanted to cover songs that weren't well known, that's why the strange track list.Yep. Axl said in an interview that he would get beat up for liking the Ramones, and then Rock N' RolL High School would blow up, and everyone would just listen to that song over and over again, and Axl wanted to show people, "But here are some of their other good songs."
