Wildly popular music that you don't like

I'm a guitarist and a fan of many kinds of rock, but I just never "understood" Hendrix. He was indeed a gifted player, and I respect what he did for the electric guitar, but his music does not "move" me in any ways.

They're not really "classic", but they've been hyped everywhere for a long time now and are rather respected musically...: Arcade Fire have few amazing songs ("Intervention" is one of the best songs... ever?), but I can never get through a whole album with them. It's just too boring.

I feel the same about Pearl Jam.

Lil Wayne has actually put out a few good songs. I'm talking about people like Chris Brown, Lil B and Soulja Boy who put the emphasis on swag rather than any sort of creativity at all.

Examples of good rappers: Kanye West, Jay-Z, Immortal Technique, Eminem, Biggie, Tupac, Mike Shinoda (yes, the guy from Linkin Park)

"Classic" bands/artists I mean. Not flash in the pan (lady gaga), that doesn't count.

The Beatles

Madonna

Bruce Springsteen

U2

The Doors (somewhat tolerable)

Change The Beatles to the best band in the history of recorded music and I'd agree with everything in that post.
