Amish
Got the alarm clock set for sevenGot the taxi called for nineThe plane takes off at elevenAnd I gotta be there on timeIt's a song by Bill Anderson from 1968. I had never heard it up until a few days ago. I immediately thought of the similarity to Mr. Brownstone. I'm not sure which is cooler: If Axl got the idea from this song or if they are similar by pure coincidence. Anyway, I just thought it was neat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtDQxhbBNOQ Edited July 30, 2012 by Amish

Redhead74
I'd say it's inspiration, not plagiarism There's a big difference and the songs are different enough to be considered so. Everything comes from somewhere doesn't it?
dalsh327
Sometimes things are in the subconscious. The song would've been out when Axl was 4 or 5, and he & Izzy prob. grew up with parents that listened more to country & religious music than to rock. A lot of songwriters worry the song they're writing came from somewhere else. The intro's "Bo Diddley", which Slash mentioned in interviews before. SONOFABITCH
Whispering Bill Anderson is the man. He sings an awesome duet with David Allan Coe called, "Get a Little Dirt on Your Hands."
