Graeme
Early days, but I love the haunting instrumental at least... I loved their first four albums and was bitterly disappointed in the most recent one so here's hoping they're back on track with this! Graeme
Holy fuckballs, that was awesome. I have high hopes for this album (I usually do with Coheed, but after YotBR I was unsure if the magic had run out). I suppose Deranged might have shown they were back on the up. chevelle
I actually get a bit of a YotBR + IKSSE:3 vibe from this, Rainbow in terms of the guitar tone and Claudio's vocals and IKS because of the length and overall structure of the song. Either way it's fucking awesome, and I'm really pumped for these albums.

Melody and focus was something I found to be lacking on Black Rainbow and this definitely seems to be back along the lines of memorable, sing-along able but still epic. As far as I'm concerned, The Willing Well in its entirety is the best thing they ever did so it's a pretty high compliment to pay. Also, Dan. GTFO. Graeme
never heard of these guysI've always thought the first video to be one of the most goosebump-inducing pieces of music ever. Live it's just unbelievable. Give them a shot! Edited August 9, 2012 by Graeme

Fucking awesome it is, too. Edited August 28, 2012 by Graeme
chevelle
I'm going to reply to this in here, as to not derail the listening to thread.P.O.S - Lock-picks, Knives, Bricks and BatsEDIT:Coheed & Cambria- Mothers of MenGraeme, what do you think of the new record? I'm loving it, especially Mothers of Men.Their best since Good Apollo II, possibly even Good Apollo I if it grows on me the way it's threatening to... Mothers of Men is an absolutely stunning slice of classic Coheed but there's so much else about this record which makes it not only a return to form but also sees them pushing the boat out in terms of songwriting and production. Fantastic.I really have to completely agree with you here. I knew we were in for a treat when Domino was released, but I was really surprised when it turned out to be THIS good. Evagria alone is worth the entire album, to hear Coheed go in such a different direction (and to put some of the music from those numbered videos they did on Youtube to use), Goodnight Fair Lady is classic IKS-era stuff, The Afterman and Subtraction incorporate elements of Prize Fighter Inferno quite nicely...I absolutely cannot wait for my deluxe set to arrive, and for Descension. sturginho
Another great Coheed album, just like all the others. Its shorter, but that's why there's another one coming in February. Every album has been different and this one is no exception. Saw them three times this fall, it was awesome. It's far too short though, only 8 songs! chevelle
I don't mind the length. It just means that I can listen to the whole thing at once more often. And on a different note, I got tickets to see them on this upcoming Russian Circles/BTBAM/Coheed tour, which is looking absolutely sick. DOM-IN-O!" I think that says a lot about their continued quality output, that you have as hardcore a fanbase and as many classic songs as they have and thousands of people still screaming their heads off for your most recent single. That must be awesome for them!
