nuGNR backing vocals

In most classic GNR songs, the backing vocals are a very important element of the songs. Duff and Izzy did most of this important job. Sometimes even Slash participated.

In the nu-Band I find the vocals are pretty weak compared to Duff-Izzy. Opinions?

I agree. I guess that just reflects the band in general though. They are weaker musicians than old GNR was.

Dizzy and Ron are great on backing vocals. I don't like Tommy's.

The thing is, the backing vocals are kind of buried in the mix. Don't know why, maybe it's just that live mixing habits changed since the 80s and 90s.

I don't know why DJ does the backings so rarely in GNR, he's not bad at all at singing.

No, it's more of the issue when you put too many layers together, things get drowned out and lost in the shuffle.

During the 2011 pro-shots of Jungle, I found one of the backing vocals to be really annoying. I think it was Dizzy but not 100% sure..

Edit: it was definitely Chris, not Dizzy....

Listen to There Was A Time "Yeah there was a time, didn't wanna know it all, etc."

I'm pretty sure that's all Tommy, all those layers/harmonies. Maybe some Dizzy. Just listen to the multitracks, none of it is Axl.

I think it's Chris and Dizzy.

And I hate watching some shows from the '90s where Sorum is louder than Axl.

He'll promote Ashbaswag whilst singing...

"Yeah there was a time, 20% off it all, 20% off it all, and I just wanna sell it now!"

Pitman sounds like a duck dying and he ruined the recent proshot shows by being too high in the mix:

1:55

:rofl-lol:

Makes me wonder if he knows that he is so loud in the mix.

Hell, maybe this is the reason we are not getting the London O2 show? :rofl-lol:
