Was "Hey Ya!" basically the biggest and best single of the 2000's?

The biggest single was We Belong Together (Mariah Carey).

Outkast's Hey Ya was 20th

I see that while you're no longer obsessed with Bon Jovi/Poison, your penchant for posting statistics as though they are the only thing that matters hasn't diminished one bit.

I haven't even heard that Mariah Carey song. Not once. :)

I've never heard that Mariah song either. That Usher song was massive too though, but I don't think any song quite crossed over quite like Hey Ya! did. It was seriously everywhere.

Great song. I remember watching an interview with Slash and Duff from 2003 or 2004, where Duff said it was his favorite pop song at the moment. Slash's favorite was Crazy In Love by Beyoncé.

"Where Is The Love?" by The Black Eyed Peas was huge as well.

All these songs are great. It seems most popular to really popular songs suck but when they reach that next level of popularity... the songs that last... they're typically actually good.

I have to point out, though, the way you listed this is one of my biggest pet peeves.... ARTIST - SONG or SONG - ARTIST for the ENTIRE list don't bounce back and forth FUCK ;-)

Also, posting the statistic that Mariah Carey's song was the biggest means nothing. In terms of what people remember/what is relevant still that song is so fucking far below Hey Ya or basically any of the above songs.

Wnen was the last time Outkast was relevant? 2004?

Sure, you love that one hit from 2003. Just like anyone who loves a Richard Marx hit from 1988 or a New Kids on the Block hit from 1990. But they didn't last.

Mariah Carey is still a major force in the industry.

What's cooler than being cool?

Ice cold.

Don't want to meet your Daddy... uh oh!!!

I LOVE this song. It's brilliant. The best part is the 'uh ohs'. Thank God it's said in the song a 100 times so I can sing along.

I prefer Roses though.

I always see people saying Hey Ya was one of the biggest singles ever, yet I haven't actually heard the song since 2004.

I hear We Belong Together all the time. I don't know if it's the biggest single of the decade, but it was definitely huge.

I don't think this was the biggest either, but this was huge, even crossed over without a remix. I'm only slightly biased about this.

Hey Ya! was huge EVERYWHERE though KDH. Carrie Underwood and that Mariah album weren't that big over here for example (I loved that album personally though).
