Randy Lahey
Was "Hey Ya!" basically the biggest and best single of the 2000's? I really can't think of any other song that even comes close.
inthisriver
Brilliant tune, easily my favorite song from that decade. It was inescapable at the time, but for a change that was a good thing.Spearkerboxx/Love Below was huge. Ahh Those were the days. I miss being a teen sometimes. That Usher song was massive too though, but I don't think any song quite crossed over quite like Hey Ya! did. It was seriously everywhere. Gordon Comstock
I hated the song when it came out because radio beat the living shit out of it. But actually a few days ago I listened to the song randomly and remembered how good it is. Thinking about it, it definitely wasn't even Outkast's best songs but it damn well might've been the biggest song of the 2000's.....

duff_rose
Great song. I remember watching an interview with Slash and Duff from 2003 or 2004, where Duff said it was his favorite pop song at the moment. Slash's favorite was Crazy In Love by Beyoncé."Where Is The Love?" by The Black Eyed Peas was huge as well. Johnny Drama
Stan - Eminem. Huge here in 2001. Eminem was still considered that controversial at the time that you never got to see the video on commercial tv which was painful as a 40 year old fan with no internet. It seems most popular to really popular songs suck but when they reach that next level of popularity... the songs that last... they're typically actually good. I have to point out, though, the way you listed this is one of my biggest pet peeves.... ARTIST - SONG or SONG - ARTIST for the ENTIRE list don't bounce back and forth FUCK ;-)Also, posting the statistic that Mariah Carey's song was the biggest means nothing. In terms of what people remember/what is relevant still that song is so fucking far below Hey Ya or basically any of the above songs. Just like anyone who loves a Richard Marx hit from 1988 or a New Kids on the Block hit from 1990. But they didn't last.Mariah Carey is still a major force in the industry. Guest Sleeping Like An Angel
What's cooler than being cool?Ice cold.Don't want to meet your Daddy... uh oh!!!I LOVE this song. It's brilliant. The best part is the 'uh ohs'. Thank God it's said in the song a 100 times so I can sing along. I prefer Roses though. James Bond
I never liked the song much but I can't deny that it's one of the most well known songs of the past decade.
Kill Devil Hill
I always see people saying Hey Ya was one of the biggest singles ever, yet I haven't actually heard the song since 2004.I hear We Belong Together all the time. I don't know if it's the biggest single of the decade, but it was definitely huge.I don't think this was the biggest either, but this was huge, even crossed over without a remix. I'm only slightly biased about this.
Guest Sleeping Like An Angel
Hey Ya! was huge EVERYWHERE though KDH. Carrie Underwood and that Mariah album weren't that big over here for example (I loved that album personally though).
Kill Devil Hill
Oh, I was speaking strictly from an American standpoint. Internationally, I have no idea what was huge.
Chris1989
I never hear that Mariah Carey song, i guess she just isn't that big in the UK.Heard Hey Ya 2 or 3 times in the past 2 years, I think Crazy in Love was probably the biggest. That ChiLites sample was pretty hard to escape.
