Bond enters the villain’s lair. “Welcome meester Bond! Anyway, Bonds loss, those films have all been shite after Roger Moore anyway. Even with Moore they were kinda like, just taking the piss out of themselves in a way. He was as good looking as any of em, had that air of danger about him and had that toffy-nosed sort of accent whilst at the same time being quite explosive looking on screen when he does like, violent shit, perfect fit. I've have seen all Bond Films apart from Daniel Craigs. Imho, there isn't ''a Best Bond''. I've enjoyed them all. They all brought something different to Bond. I like Daniel Craig, just haven't got round to watching his Bond Movies yet. I've got a Special like for Goldeneye because I loved Goldeneye for the N64... Long live Bond, James Bond! Dalton is my favourite Bond. Living Daylights is an absolute banger. Connery is the original so there's no real comparison. Brosnan was a good Bond who only made one good film (Goldeneye). Craig has been really good and Moore was enjoyable but a bit silly. I'm not arsed about Lazenby.

Craig has the obvious benefit of having more films. I think its a testament to Lazenby's enthusiasm and charisma that he gave the performance he did considering he had zero acting experience. Pierce had some more cringeworthy acting moments in TWINE than Lazenby did in OHMSS. Shame about the voice dubbing when he's impersonating Bray but alas.

And obviously not having his voice dubbed would've probably helped the perception of Lazenby.

Lazenby definitely lucked out with one of the best scripts in the franchise, but I meant that more as a compliment to Lazenby. Brosnan is an experienced actor and even the atrocious TWINE got the best of him more than Lazenby's lack of experience got of him. Just as one example, of course. I just think poor George gets shit on very easily for his performance but it's at least on par with the worst of the Moore and Brosnan moments in my opinion.

I agree, but like I said...Sean Connery or Timothy Dalton or Daniel Craig couldn't save that line in TWINE...or Denise Richards being in a horribly misacted role). Regarding George - I 100% agree. Considering the circumstances, that must honestly be one of the hardest gigs in the history of the modern world to step into with little to no experience. Yet, he gave a performance that made you believe there was something more there. That is nothing to mention of the fact that the entire series could've changed based on his decision to not return. That book you recommended is beyond amazing for anyone who wants to learn some tidbits (to the point that it's a fucking bible!) about his franchise.
action
anyone remember this? this was an awesome encyclopedia on the bond movies, on 2 cd roms. It was set up like a massive website, where you could click on ever bond movie, and then delver deeper and deeper in to pictures, articles, gadgets / women / allies featured in the movies. I remember it even had a quiz for each movie to test your knowledge. I still have my copy but I lack the skills to run this on my computer. Spent hours and hours in this thing.
Georgy Zhukov
Lazenby bullshit his way to play 007 and that is why he is 007 On Her Majesty's Secret Service is still my favorite Bond film.
YouCouldBeMine_2029
Who Is Your Favorite Badass Bond Villain? For me it has to be Max Zorin. That is a Charachter that would Still very much Resonate today. The Very Last 10 Seconds of Max Zorin is Classic Christopher Walken Hahaha
DieselDaisy
Outside the classics (Shaw's Grant, Oddjob, etc.) I might say Sean Bean's Trevelyan (006). Edited November 13, 2020 by DieselDaisy
