Why would anyone do that? I don't know much about Connery because I don't care about celebrities, but I doubt he and Hitler had much in common.

I was merely arguing your flawed logic.

my logic applies to connery, not to hitler.

You brought up hitler to prove my logic was making no sense whatsoever. It's utterly pointless to bring up hitler in this. If the example of Hitler is necessary to disprove my point, then you're merely admitting that my point stands without the comparison.

It was a random example using one of the worst people who ever lived. But forget about it if it bothers you.

Just because Connery, or anyone else for that matter, has a loving family, doesn't mean they have a ''fine, moral'' character, as you put it. Your logic is flawed and you know it.

there is only one bond to me, connery.

moore was great too, for the humour. his movies are also legendary, but connery is the real bond.

All the rest, are wannabees.

craig could never convince me. he actually looks like he should have been the villain in one of the 60s movies. he reminds me of grant in from russia with love.

as for brosnan and dalton; those seem to me really a poor man's bond.

Hmm. Well, I never got the fascination with Connery. Yeah, he's the "original". But so what? And finally seeing/hearing him with his natural voice/slang (as opposed to the dubbed version) didn't help either. My favourite Bond always has been Roger Moore. Until Pierce Brosnan came along.

What is a great guy though? I have never met a perfect person in my life, but I have met plenty of people who claimed they were.

Mathew 7:5: First, remove the beam out of your own eye, and then you can see clearly to remove the speck out of your brother’s eye.

Right, because then Christ Jesus went on to say, 'So therefore forget what I said about aiding the widow. If shes getting battered who are you to defend one of Gods children?'

If anyone is bored and wants something of the same DNA as Bond, quintessential 1960s Bond that is, you could wade through the TV series The Avengers and The Saint. I am doing this right now.

Look who it is with the shooter :)

...Bond with a permanent great big piss mark in the crotch area.

Bond enters the villain’s lair.

“Welcome meester Bond! I have been expecting you.”

Bond whips his cock out, bangs it on the edge of Blofeld’s desk, sticks the nut on him and passes out. 😂

Olly would’ve made a great Bond.

He was up for the role too.  Around the time he made a movie with Diana Rigg called The Assassination Bureau.  But, in Ollies inimitable way he fuckin' made an arse of it by, depending on who you ask, offending a movie big wig with threats or showing his willie to assorted American press at some press conference or something.  Anyway, Bonds loss, those films have all been shite after Roger Moore anyway.  Even with Moore they were kinda like, just taking the piss out of themselves in a way.

He was as good looking as any of em, had that air of danger about him and had that toffy-nosed sort of accent whilst at the same time being quite explosive looking on screen when he does like, violent shit, perfect fit.

To paraphrase Le Chiffre,

"That's it? Anybody want to talk about James Bond now?"

I've have seen all Bond Films apart from Daniel Craigs. Imho, there isn't ''a Best Bond''. I've enjoyed them all. They all brought something different to Bond.

I like Daniel Craig, just haven't got round to watching his Bond Movies yet.

I've got a Special like for Goldeneye because I loved Goldeneye for the N64...

Long live Bond, James Bond!

Dalton is my favourite Bond. Living Daylights is an absolute banger. Connery is the original so there's no real comparison. Brosnan was a good Bond who only made one good film (Goldeneye). Craig has been really good and Moore was enjoyable but a bit silly. I'm not arsed about Lazenby.

And yet he starred in one of the best Bond movies.

Oh, I agree. Just don't think he was great in the role. I mean he wasn't terrible but just on par with Brosnan/Moore for me.

Taking Connery out of the equation I'd rate them

Dalton

Craig

Moore

Brosnan

Lazenby

Probably my current ranking as well, although I'd probably rate Craig and Dalton as tied. Craig has the obvious benefit of having more films.

I think its a testament to Lazenby's enthusiasm and charisma that he gave the performance he did considering he had zero acting experience. Pierce had some more cringeworthy acting moments in TWINE than Lazenby did in OHMSS. Shame about the voice dubbing when he's impersonating Bray but alas.

True, but that's not necessarily either of their faults. You can only do what the script has written.

And obviously not having his voice dubbed would've probably helped the perception of Lazenby.

Lazenby definitely lucked out with one of the best scripts in the franchise, but I meant that more as a compliment to Lazenby. Brosnan is an experienced actor and even the atrocious TWINE got the best of him more than Lazenby's lack of experience got of him. Just as one example, of course. I just think poor George gets shit on very easily for his performance but it's at least on par with the worst of the Moore and Brosnan moments in my opinion.

I agree, but like I said...Sean Connery or Timothy Dalton or Daniel Craig couldn't save that line in TWINE...or Denise Richards being in a horribly misacted role).

Regarding George - I 100% agree. Considering the circumstances, that must honestly be one of the hardest gigs in the history of the modern world to step into with little to no experience. Yet, he gave a performance that made you believe there was something more there.

That is nothing to mention of the fact that the entire series could've changed based on his decision to not return. That book you recommended is beyond amazing for anyone who wants to learn some tidbits (to the point that it's a fucking bible!) about his franchise.

007-dossier-nybro.jpg

anyone remember this?

this was an awesome encyclopedia on the bond movies, on 2 cd roms. It was set up like a massive website, where you could click on ever bond movie, and then delver deeper and deeper in to pictures, articles, gadgets / women / allies featured in the movies. I remember it even had a quiz for each movie to test your knowledge.

I still have my copy but I lack the skills to run this on my computer.

Spent hours and hours in this thing.
