Vincent Vega
Marc--I'm sure you've listened to hundreds of GN'R concerts...If you'll notice, on most songs of any given UYI tour concert, Izzy and later Gilby's rhythm guitar is much lower than Slash's and on some songs, their guitar wasn't really audible at all...Why was this done to them? recklessroad
I don't know about Gilby I would have to go back and listen to a gig with Gilby but Izzy can be sloppy sometimes and miss some notes or hit some wrong notes and Slash always sounded great. The guys mixing it are going to mix in what sounds better.
Tyler Drama
Axl said that at early GNR shows, Izzy would always be so wasted that he would be playing the wrong song in the wrong key, so the roadies would turn his amp all the way down. Then, when Izzy would go near his amp to see if it was loud enough, the roadies would turn it all the way up. Then, when he walked away, they would turn it back down again. Bards
That's the first time I've ever heard anyone say Gilby's amps were turned down. I could always hear Gilby fine.
Kalervo
I have always wondered where is the rhythm quitar in Rocket Queen from Live Era?
