BBA Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 does anyone else think that Axl may have wanted to record a new album until he heard what the "band" was able to come up with? afterwards, he came to the conclusion that he's better off continuing to pay tribute to afd as a vegas act? it's possible, right?
bacardimayne Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 It's a legitimate possibility considering DJ seems to be the most vocal about songwriting in the group.
gnrjanus Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 I'm sorry but...You've got a few of the most talented players out there in ure band and you are going to think... Nah this ain't sound right...these guys can come up with the most beautiful music. All the jams back in 06-07 are just a small part of the things they can do.and it might seem a bit light but the instrumental intro to madagascar (The jam's) even if it's maddy it has a nice touch and feel.
Apollo Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 No. They apparently have a bunch of big guns in the vault. Plus some experimental techno nine inch nails type stuff. So wouldn't they just need 3-4 songs from the new band?I have no idea why Axl chooses not to reward his fans with new music. But I doubt it is because he doesn't like the band's writing skills.
Damn_Smooth Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 (edited) Wouldn't common sense dictate that he would have fired them by now if this were the case? Edited August 27, 2012 by Damn_Smooth
Freddie Mercury's Ghost Posted August 26, 2012 Posted August 26, 2012 Well, he didn't want to write with Gilby - and Gilby's awesome,So I guess it's possible.
saber_ Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 Well, he didn't want to write with Gilby - and Gilby's awesome,So I guess it's possible.Gilby's awesome? Put down the kool aid, son. does anyone else think that Axl may have wanted to record a new album until he heard what the "band" was able to come up with? You mean like in 1994 and '95 when he heard Slash's heroin-inspired stuff?
Kapitch_77 Posted August 27, 2012 Posted August 27, 2012 (edited) Yes it's possible. They can play, sure, but can they write good music? That's another story. I can't even name one good song one of the current member has created. But one thing though, I'm not blaming the band for the current state of affair... if you know what I mean...
