Redhead74 Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 Best TV shows ever made are all English.Shame you aren't you paki cunt! This coming from a man whoose forebearers were essentially tartan skirt wearing highland dwelling ginger savages that porked their mothers just to keep warm every winter Yes, i'd probably think twice before casting aspersions on someones race when belonging to one whoose international repute is based around cross-dressing!Lenny are you suggesting all ginger are savages? On topic, cant vote because I didn't watch either series enough to form an opinion, but I love Alabama3 who did the Sopranos theme. "You Don't Dance to Techno Anymore" being a real favourite. Quote
GivenToFly Posted August 31, 2012 Author Posted August 31, 2012 I saw 25 replies and I thought "Nice, a pretty cool discussion is already going on" and then this shit. Quote
Projected Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 (edited) Congrats to Lenny and Dazey for succesfuly hijacking another thread with their English slang bullshit. On Topic:Two of my favorite shows ever. Sopranos takes it, though. Edited August 31, 2012 by Projected Quote
AbominableHoman Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I have yet to experience all of the Sopranos series. I've caught some different character and story arcs. The series didn't engage me like The Wire did. Plus it doesn't help that I really don't care for anything mob/Italian related. Shitty food. Shitty accents. Shitty religion. The Wire not only had great characters, but it made you feel like you were chatting it up continuously with a bunch of undercover journalists. Even if a veteran detective could walk up and point out all of the bullshit in the series, most of it was unique and very plausible. Plus there's all that bullshit moral complexity stuff. Quote
Forsaken Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 (edited) ON TOPIC, Null, have not watched The Wire. Kind of wanna get into it. Edited August 31, 2012 by Forsaken Quote
Lithium Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 That's a tough one. I love both, but when it comes to personal preference, I'm leaning slightly towards Sopranos. However, if I'm being objective, I gotta null vote it. Quote
AbominableHoman Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 (edited) ON TOPIC, Null, have not watched The Wire. Kind of wanna get into it.Do it, man. Breaking Bad and The Wire are a dead heat when it comes to T.V. shows I always recommend. Plenty of corruption, wire-tapping, cop drama at it's finest, etc, etc. The writer for The Wire was a journalist in Baltimore for a long time, and that's where he gets a lot of his material. GivenToFly Posted September 1, 2012 Author Posted September 1, 2012 I saw about two and a half seasons of Sopranos and got bored with it. I found myself not caring the slightest bit about any of the characters or what happens to them, and the stories aren't engaging either. Quote
ColdHeartBreaker Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 The Wire is my favourite show of..ALL TIME Quote

John Bonham Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Never seen The Wire, but a shrink told me it was great! Voted Sopranos. Quote
Georgy Zhukov Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Christopher Molistanti is one of the funniest TV characters ever. Quote

Georgy Zhukov Posted September 5, 2012 Posted September 5, 2012 Tony Sirico who played Plaulie "Walnuts" from the Sopranos was a real life associate of the Colombo Crime Family. No wonder he was so good at the role. Quote
