Bumble's Bridge Pickup Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I think it's still an exceptional album. The unique overproduced style, the complex song arrangements that still flow pretty naturally, and ofc the guitar and Axl's vocals make it great. Some of the songs are mixed inconsistently and have maybe a bit too much going on at times though. To me, it's kinda irrelevant that it took 14 years to make, because I only first heard GN'R in the summer of 2008 and was like, "cool, this band is releasing a new album this fall!"
dalsh327 Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Remember, the album is too complex for the average music listener to comprehend.Shit I remember when people would say that. The other classic was that in a few years when the album had a chance to settle in, it would be seen as a great masterpiece. Presumably It would take a few years as people's minds were not advanced enough in 2008 and it would take several years to fully comprehend the albums genius. The comments from the band about the unreleased stuff being too advanced for the audience is pretty insulting. Same comments about ChiDem were said about VHIII.
Gagarin Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 more like give it to all your ex-girlfriends anonymously
spunko12345 Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 If you want them to remain their loved ones I'd recommend not bothering. tat2d1 Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I'd rather buy people something they actually want.
Nosaj Thing Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 Spending a dollar 99 sounds good to meToo high. 99 cents is good though.

Dan H. Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I would never give that garbage to someone I care about.
Nosaj Thing Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I would never give that garbage to someone I care about.Right?
phaeryen Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I decided not to buy this album, because it felt rushed, wrong, and unfinished. so why would I buy it for someone I love? as a test of some kind? no.
Guest Satanisk_Slakt Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 I must admit that I'd actually pay for it if it didn't cost more than two dollars here. The cheapest I've seen it for here is 99 SEK, which is like 15 dollars and it's just not worth that much.
tr420 Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 Didnt we all do that already back when it came out? So do they all need a second copy?
Randy Jesus Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 I know it's early, but all this talk about politics in America has got me pumped enough to want to start a movement. Possibly a tradition. The world needs more Chinese Democracy, and I just want to see a show of hands of people that will join in and buy Chinese Democracy for their loved ones this coming holiday season. Who's in on this?Go to best buy, I guess It is a cheap gift that actually has some kick.
Jeez Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 I decided not to buy this album, because it felt rushed, wrong, and unfinished. Rushed through 15 years. Yep.
dalsh327 Posted September 2, 2012 Posted September 2, 2012 If he said "Shackler's Revenge" was his favorite song, would you be surprised?
