sailaway Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Your future is your choice! Hopefully, by now you are open to the idea that higher consciousness is available to you. It already exists within you. All you need do is make the effort to discover it and unleash it into your life. Without knowing your faculty of higher consciousness, you are missing out on at least nine-tenths of your potential for happiness and fulfillment. While this quest takes work and sincerity, no pursuit is more worthwhile or so rewarding in every wayNot only do each of us deeply need to awaken and become aware of our own faculties of higher consciousness, but it seems our world will be in deep trouble until more and more people go beyond the limitations of their present awareness and stand in the glorious presence of their true nature. Our world is so full of misunderstanding, there are so many wants and unfulfilled needs. Because of ignorance of our inner abilities, there is much suffering almost everywhere on our planet. In your quest for higher consciousness, don't be put off by old tendencies and conceptions. Be new, fresh, when you approach higher consciousness. Be willing to explore it. Be honest with yourself. Don't pretend results that aren't really there. Higher consciousness is not a fantasy realm. Higher consciousness has to be discovered as a reality and it must have distinct and definite impacts on your life before you can say you have even begun to know it. Of course your old tendencies and limited thoughts will try to stand in the way whenever you're dealing with something new, something relatively unknown. Don't worry. Push forward. You will succeed.Of course, it's very helpful if you can find the companionship of some fellow seekers and enlightened people nearby. They will be good friends and very helpful to you. Hopefully one day you will find a special teacher who will be qualified to help you in the development of your life in higher consciousness.
sailaway Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 (edited) By considering the inner universe and life itself more important than mankind's discoveries in the physical universe, no disparagement is intended. Courageous, brilliant men and women guided people away from terrifying superstitions about the world. These honest scientists bravely led us from ages of human sacrifice —which were supposed to influence capricious gods —into the age of heart transplants, global communications, and manned space flight. Great men and women have shone their insights outward on the universe and we have marvelled. We have been set free of much ignorance by the Galileos, Newtons, Einsteins and Curies. We have been enabled by them to improve and lengthen our lives in innumerable ways. Too, great explorers of our physical universe have often made extreme sacrifices in serving truth as best they could. They were very often ridiculed, persecuted, imprisoned, and tortured by benumbed people. And, often these heroes and heroines did work which itself was dangerous —Madame Curie, for example, died of leukemia caused by the effects of radiation.************However, a study of the lives of our great discoverers in the sciences reveals that almost always the seeker of truth needed moments of reflection, had to go within, in order to know the physical world better. Moments of inner communion inspired the humble seeker with new insights that resulted in almost every important discovery of chemistry, physics, medicine, mathematics, optics, calculus. All of their inventions and all their ways of knowing the physical world, it seems, came from the higher consciousness, from revelations within. The physical world would hardly be known at all were it not for these seekers of truth finding within themselves the clues, or the procedures, or the insights, which have brought about every advancement in science and knowledge of the physical world. But no one has claimed bringing rocks back from the moon can show people who we are or how to live together harmoniously. Brain surgery can preserve a life but it can't reveal what life —or a person —is. Nor do the leaders in the social sciences, with their considerable light, say they can solve our deep yearnings or give us lasting peace. In finding our higher consciousness, remote possibilities come near. As you find your superconscious awareness dawning, many hopes become possible. As groups of people become more conscious, the world changes. Edited September 19, 2012 by sailaway

sailaway Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 We need to respect, even encourage, the diversity amongst ourselves, maintaining a clear core of self all the while and serving one another, too." We have within us everything we need with which to discover our unique purposes in life - we have only to learn to hear our spiritual (inner) voice and see through our spiritual (inner) eye. Letting go of the fear means letting go of the frantic search for fulfillment through the material self.God can suck my balls. And you can suck his.Secondly,What in the hell is wrong with everyone having their own belief system? Dazey Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 There's a huge difference between respecting somebody's right to hold a particular belief and respecting that belief itself. Some beliefs don't deserve respect because they're clearly ridiculous. If somebody wants to believe the Earth is less than 10,000 years old then should we really bend over backwards to "respect" that in the so called enlightened modern age? Fuck no!
SoulMonster Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 SoulMonster, here's a good story for you http://www.blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=179595Not saying I believe that kind of thing, but who got hurt in the process?I really appreciate your effort but I just can't take the time to repeat why humanity would be better off without irrational beliefs. Just go back in this thread, I believe I have made myself quite clear on this numerous times. You have made Science and technology your god,and are afraid to consider that anything else might exist.Err, science is just a method we have for figuring things out, the best method, and technology is just tools and applications. I know we have other ways to figuring things out, they are simply just not as good as science. But please enlighten me, what other methods do we have which can rival science in regards to answering questions about the world we inhabit? I am pretty certain I have considered their existence many times in my life, as evidenced by this very thread where I refute astrology as a source of knowledge. So what you are saying just doesn't make much sense. It is you that offhand refuse to consider the validity of your own irrational beliefs. You are the one with the closed mind here
SoulMonster Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 We need to respect, even encourage, the diversity amongst ourselvesNot in the sense that we should celebrate a diversity that includes harmful irrational beliefs. Or are you seriously saying that we should respect and encourage the type of irrational beliefs that made the 9/11 terrorists commit their heinous crimes? Why should we respect irrational beliefs? Come on now, sailaway, pry your head out of your ass or wherever you find all those nauseous, "inspirational" quotes of yours, and answer that question seriously. What inherent value do such beliefs have that grants them the power to be respected? Or are you seriously saying that just about any belief conceivable to man should automatically be considered sacrosanct and thus obligately respected by us? Trust me, as much crap comes out of the minds of humans as their asses. To raise us to such a pillar that everything we say an think should be considered holy is just...silly. There, you did it again.
UK SUBS Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 Ladies, please! Was going to move to Attitude but decided to lock -- Personally, I think 'Astrology' is complete and utter bollocks and I find it laughable that adults think there's a clear and tangible connection. With that said, if that's your thing, more power to you!? Can't respect be shown on both sides of the fence here? Why people get so passionate about a subject they have absolutely no belief or connection with is simply beyond me? but.....*Locked*
