GivenToFly
... booty shaking, love making, viagra taking, history making, legendary E STREET BAND"I've been listening to the recording of Bruce Springsteen and The E Street Band's set at Hard Rock Calling Festival 2009 in Hyde Park London (also released officially on DVD) A LOT lately and I wanted to share it with you good people here. The performance of American Land above, along with , are jaw dropping, my two favorites. Keep in mind that they're done after over two hours of hard rocking!Close behind them are She's The One, (so much energy!), Bobby Jean, Trapped and (with the lead singer of The Gaslight Anthem, who gives an outstanding performance).Badlands and The Rising (the last verse! holy shit!) are also amazing, but those always sound great, so nu surprise there. If you're a fan, there's a good chance you've heard these (and if you haven't, you must!). If you're not, please listen, and you might actually become one . The whole show is amazing, and it's worth seeing (or at least listening to the audio version). While I'm here, I'd also like to post two other magnificent performances: (from their previous DVD, recorded in Barcelona in 2002)Jungleland (from the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame 25th anniversary in 2009) - no Youtube link, sorryAnd since I saw him this summer, I'd also like to post my two favorite performances of the night (unfortunately, no proshot here): - not a great recording, but best I could findSo tell me what you think of the above, or use this thread, if you want, to post great live performances by Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, or just Bruce solo. (Someone here posted a version of Higher&Higher once that rocked my socks off but I can't remember which one it was. All I remember is it was East Coast US somewhere.) izzygirl
I just read the 3 first words of the thread's title and I shouted out the rest!He is... THE FUCKIN' BOSS!!!!!!I've seen the Hyde Park concert many many times and it's amazing. I love Out in the Street, especially when he realizes he is too far from the stage to sing along with Steve and the "I'm fuckin' 60!!" part. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qZbyLsiHzYYou gotta love him. username
...Everything you said and more. What a band! I was lucky enough to see them twice that tour and...wow. Mindblowing. One of the best, tightest and energetic rock bands of all time.

axlslash
Bruce is the BOSS. Love him. Seen him 6 times with the LEGENDARY E Street Band, once with the Seeger Sessions Band. Absolutely stunning performer. Best thing I have EVER seen live, period, bar none: Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band making up an arrangement of Jackie Wilson's (Your Love Keeps Lifting Me) Higher and Higher, on the spot, at the old Philly Spectrum. I was about 12 rows behind the stage. Just unreal. Also, here's the first performance (except for one at a small show in December 2000) of My City of Ruins, opening the 9/11 telethon about a week after the attacks. Still one of my favorites. He wound up closing every show with this for the rest of the tour (including the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame concert that the U2 performance happened at), but this was the first show they did it at. 7 of the best concert minutes of my life. Demon Wolf
Saw him in Gothenburg twice in July. Unreal concerts. Both around 3:40 in length. Night 1 was stunning, night 2 was even better! We got Frankie, I'm Going Down, Downbound Train, Because The Night, Lost In The Flood, Backstreets and motherfucking JUNGLELAND Edited September 16, 2012 by Demon Wolf
GivenToFly
...The story at the beginning I mean. It's beautiful, it's really is. First time I heard it at the end I wanted to cheer along with the audience. Of course, the good feeling kinda goes away when it's followed by one of the most depressing songs ever written, but the performance of the song itself is pretty damn good too. My favorite track off the Live 75/85 album.

Johnny Drama
So tell me what you think of the aboveAre you sure? Read the first post and I wondered "shit now how long's it gonna take that brown son of a bitch to rock up and give it a severe bollocking?" And all them words don't make me think of Springsteen. At all.

GivenToFly
GivenToFly are those playlists from bootlegs or official albums? I'd like to hear them. I've never really listened to Springsteen live and everyone seems to say that's where he's best. Official releases:Live 1975/85 is a live album; Chimes of Freedom is a live EP; Plugged and Live in NYC are both audio and video releases; Live in Barcelona and Hyde Park are video releases, but also work very well when you just listen to the audio.I recommend starting with Hard Rock Calling: Live from Hyde Park 2009 and following it with Live 1975/85.
