Snake Eyes Posted September 9, 2012 Posted September 9, 2012 (edited) Hard to choose. I'm a fan of so much scottish music. Have to pick frightened rabbit, but I'll mention a few other recent ones as well.Put this up since it's the latest teaser of their new ep they've put on youtube. Some of the soundest, funniest guys I've had the pleasuring of meeting. Hard to believe seeing the mood of this song is Leonard Cohen at a funeral, but aye.Nothing Like You, Good Arms vs. Bad Arms, State Hospital, Oil Slick, The Modern Leper - Frightened RabbitIt's Thunder And It's Lightning - We Were Promised JetpacksWhat Do You Do? - Fudge FingasFlirted With You All My Life - There Will Be FireworksMaschine - Conquering Animal SoundThe Shy Retirer - Arab StrapWhorses - Biffy ClyroCar Song - RH Hubbart & Aidan MoffatI Want The World To Stop - Belle & SebastianOne Day This'll All Be Fields - MeursaultBreathe Easy - Rachel Sermanni Edited September 9, 2012 by Snake Eyes Quote

Opened for them a couple of months ago actually, Admiral Fallow and People Places Maps were playing as well, heard them? Think you'd enjoy both. So much new talent, and a pretty tight, friendly community in scotland right now.She is eh. I didn't know who she was till my friend took me to see her a few weeks ago. Was a bit curious about anyone she'd 'turn lesbian for' haha, so I went along. Beautiful voice. This video gives me chills every time. Quote

It's awesome that you opened for BRC, I saw them in the Captain's Rest in Glasgow back in Spring and you were lucky if there were 20 people in the venue but the music was absolutely stunning! Ross Wilson's a top gent as well... The thing that gets me about Rachel Sermanni's songwriting is her ability to use all these weird chords and dischords, things which would sound absolutely horrible if I were to try them while songwriting but she somehow manages to tie together with an absolutely amazing melody and make something beautiful overall (see Black Current or Song for a Fox).Trying to get a leg up into the whole "scene" with this new band I've put together... we played our first local gig yesterday and have our first Glasgow show lined up for the 25th. Given I'm moving to England in 3 weeks it's likely to be a slow process with only a couple of gigs a month max but if all goes according to plan we're aiming for a slot at Hebridean Celtic Festival next year!
