I was actually looking through the first couple pages of My World earlier to see if there was a thread already.

When the "Five" first popped up, in the back of my mind I thought a new album. We had Led Zeppelin 1 through 4, so that was the first connection I made even though I knew it was unlikely. As the countdown continued, I figured some big news. The video posted more or less confirms the release of the O2 show. A tour would be nice, but I won't hold my breath.

First the audience build-up then the sound clip which is definitely the O2 show:

Should be interesting to see what winds up coming out, the other performances, documentary, and the rehearsal footage.

They could fix the mistake up, we don't know if they were running video during the rehearsals, but it's a no-brainer to re-edit it. They might want the mistake in, but cut it down by 5 seconds.

No one was really sure when it was going to be out, I think they were expecting it a few years ago, or out for Xmas that year.

God I wish they had toured after that show. :(

Alisson Krauss will always have a special place in my heart for this...

You didn't want to see them tour?

I should clarify, it's the dark vindictive evil part of my heart.

They WILL be getting together this year, but they're going to have to listen to people covering their songs. I don't know if Jason's going on John Bonham's behalf or they're just giving the awards to Page, Plant, and Jones. Wonder if they're bringing Bettye Levette back to do "Since I've Been Loving You".

Interesting covers in the past, Dave Grohl's prob. going to be there (he'd done the McCartney ceremony twice and it is his Crooked Vultures bandmate), and they either go with someone currently popular or an old friend of the band. Alison Krauss or Patti Griffin are likely.

Incredible, chances are they'll show it where I live too, will be the second time I'll go see a movie because of Mr. Page (first was It Might Get Loud)

Kind of off topic, but what did you think of It Might Get Loud? I was incredibly disappointed with it.

Anyways, I heard on my local radio this morning that it's showing where I live too. It'll be nice to see this on the big screen!

Well I did love Page playing Ramble On and some of the discussions between the guys but they should have cut the band biographies and shit and show more jamming and serious gear and technique discussion. In short yeah I was a bit disappointed.

I was just curious since you mentioned it. I felt the same way - I was hoping they'd go more in depth with their techniques and approach to the guitar. Sure, there was a bit of that but the biography parts took over. I don't care that Edge lived around the corner from a variety store when he was two years old, I want some serious jamming and gear talk!

Exactly. Ofc the audience was mostly non-guitarists, but it was frustrating for those of us who have a bit of a deeper insight into this stuff :tongue2:

It was a big part of why they developed the way they did as players. Would've been completely, mortally wrong not to include it. But as for gear talk, for people into that stuff it's not hard to find, they practically put it in people's hands with every interview they give on Guitar World, Total Guitar, Guitarist, Vintage Guitar etc...
