You can always make a 2nd CD with a sort of "You wanted the best, but these didn't make it" feel to it, and make the new vote a "which songs you want on the 2nd CD?" and make people able to vote on any 15 (or maybe limit it to 10) songs that didn't make it. AFD, CD, TSI, singles, whatever they want. And then take 15 (or 10) most voted for. But make people list them from the one they want the most to the one they want the least, and then get the 2nd CD tracklist from that.

how about we use these songs from 16th to 30th + another 15 songs from previous album polls that just missed out and then we would get another TOP 15 The Best of the Rest? I'm unsure of the logic I'd follow on these fresh 15 songs though. If I'm to be democratic I'd follow the rankings but I'm not sure that it would make any sense adding more of TSI? seeing it's firmly at the bottom. Maybe since neither GNR Lies nor TSI? have a song in the TOP 15 The Best, I do not add anything more from those albums but add the same ratio of songs from albums that made the top 15 = 7 afd, 6 uyis 2 CD, of course that wouldn't work as AFD has only 12 songs. Any suggestions

I suggest: just let people post 15 (or 10) songs they would like in the "best of", that didn't make it to the top 15. Then you take a look on the songs people posted and take 15 (or 10) that were mentioned in the highest number of posts.

I've made the decision as to "The Best of the Rest" poll. It will feature residual songs from this list (16 to 30) and another 15 songs according to the ranking each album's songs got on this list (the way things stand now, we'll get another 5 afd songs (basically all the rest), 3 uyi1, 3 uyi2, 1 lies, 0 spaghetti and 2 cd

"the best of the rest" poll will start as soon as this one finishes. I will not bump this thread further so the only thing that can keep this thread alive (not fall off the first page of the main section) is further votes for The Best poll. we're at 24 votes total for now

not so much a "new" list but and additional list. We'll call the first one: The Best or Top 15 pt1; and the second one: The Best of the Rest or Top 15 pt2. Secondly it's not MY list because it's a a list with top ranked songs from each album and since I had no way of knowing how TSI songs would stack up against the rest I had to go with the same model of cut-off points for each album. Now that the first poll answers a few questions, the new 15 songs will still be selected according to the ranking on individual albums we did before but this time the selection will also depend ont THE BEST 30 ranking we are doing now. (I can tell you right now that no new TSI songs will be added)

I can answer your question right now and say that Catcher might make it but SOD will definitely not because it is ranked only 9th on CD. Two that will definitely be added are Madagascar and Sorry from CD, while Catcher is borderline

Also, if TSI occupies the last 5 positions even in the following poll that'll answer even more questions and possibly mean that all future polls will lack songs from TSI? altogether or maybe to include only songs that were written by GNR

I'm sure almost everyone on this forum would agree that songs like Breakdown, Used To Love Her and Catcher In The Rye are more deserving of being in GNR's top 30 than Black Leather and Hair of The Dog.

So you're selecting the top 15 songs that didn't reach the final 30??

I'm actually coming up with things as I go and when you look at the top 15 you can't really say that it's flawed because all of the albums in the last 30 (except AFD) have songs that are not in the TOP 15, meaning, any song you think is unfairly out of the top 30 wouldn't made it to the TOP 15 as other songs from those albums were ranked higher in the album polls

In fact, you could say that 16-30 is flawed but 1-15 is certainly not

And yes I think it's a good idea to have another top 15 pt.2 containing the best songs of the rest (16-30 from this poll + another 15 songs that closely missed out on this final top 30 with the exception that these new songs will be selected from those albums that showed to be more popular, i.e. no new TSI songs added)

then after the top 15 pt.1 and top 15 pt.2 if there are any objections, we can clash those two lists to get the ultimate top 15 but I thing that this present Top 15 will pretty much remain the same so it might be futile
