Powerage5
<p>"Having recently completed the North American leg of the MAIDEN ENGLAND WORLD TOUR, one of the most successful rock tours of the summer, IRON MAIDEN will now be storming across Europe in 2013 playing stadiums, major festivals and arenas with this critically acclaimed show. The first date to be announced is at the UK's Download Festival on Saturday June 15th when Maiden return to the legendary Donington Park to headline for a record FIFTH time! (following 1988,1992, 2003 & 2007).<br /><br />That achievement is equally significant as 2013 is the 25th anniversary of Maiden first topping the bill there in 1988 when the festival was known as Monsters Of Rock attracting 107,000 fans, which is still the highest attendance ever at Donington. This was during their Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son tour, from which the current tour draws much of its inspiration for both set list and production as seen in the 1988 long form concert video 'MAIDEN ENGLAND', making this Download appearance even more unique!<br /><br />Bruce Dickinson says,<br /><br />"We were completely overwhelmed by the reaction from our North American fans to the MAIDEN ENGLAND Tour, which was our most extensive tour there for many years. Some of the cities we played we hadn't visited in over twenty years so had no idea what to expect! But the opening night in Charlotte was packed to the rafters and the crowd was amazing. This continued throughout making the whole tour very special. We had a lot of fun playing the older songs there and the fans seemed to love the set list* and Eddie's various incarnations! We all can't wait to bring this show to our European fans.<br /><br /><br /><br />"We're absolutely over the moon to be headlining Donington again. The idea of returning exactly 25 years later with a show inspired by that same 1988 "Seventh Son" Tour, was too good an opportunity to be missed! And, thanks to modern technology, we've been able to update and improve on the original production. We will be bringing a huge new lightshow, stage set, various incarnations of Eddie, plenty of pyro and all kinds of other exciting stuff for the fans. And of course treating the fans to lots of their favourite songs from that period! We've had many great times at Donington and there is always a wonderful mix of bands and a really wild crowd who love their metal, all of which makes for a memorable show and fantastic party atmosphere!"<br /><br />Steve Harris continues,<br /><br />"We know how popular the History of Maiden Tours are with fans of all ages, so we want to take the show to as many places as we possibly can around Europe, taking with us the full production we had in North America. We had a huge amount of fun with the set list as we got to play songs we'd not played in a very long time like Seventh Son, The Prisoner and Afraid To Shoot Strangers, as well as fan favourites like The Trooper, Aces High, The Number Of The Beast, Wasted Years and Run To The Hills. The opening leg of the tour was so enjoyable for the whole band we're really looking forward to taking it to our fans in Europe, and of course Donington".<br /><br />Many more European dates will be announced over the next few months – so keep a regular eye on ironmaiden.com for details<br /><br />Click here to buy tickets and for more information about the Download Festival.<br /><br />*North American set list:<br />Moonchild<br />Can I Play With Madness<br />The Prisoner<br />2 Minutes To Midnight<br />Afraid To Shoot Strangers<br />The Trooper<br />The Number Of The Beast<br />Phantom Of The Opera<br />Run To The Hills<br />Wasted Years<br />Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son<br />The Clairvoyant<br />Fear Of The Dark<br />Iron Maiden<br />-----<br />Aces High<br />The Evil That Men Do<br />Running Free"<br /><br />http://www.ironmaide...pe-in-2013.html<br /><br /><br /><br /><strong class="bbc">MAIDEN ENDLAND EUROPEAN TOUR 2013:</strong></p><p>27/5 - Bilbao, Spain</p><p>29/5 - Lisbon, Portugal<br />31/5 - Madrid (Sonisphere)<br />1/6 - Barcelona (Sonisphere)<br />5/6 - Paris, France<br />8/6 - Milan, Italy (Sonisphere)<br />9/6 - Amneville, France (Sonisphere)<br />11/6 - Frankfurt, Germany<br />12/6 - Frankfurt, Germany<br />15/6 - Donington, England (Download Festival)<br />18/6 - Berlin, Germany<br />19/6 - Hamburg, Germany<br />21/6 - Graz, Austria (See-Rock Festival)<br />22/6 - Zurich, Switzerland<br />25/6 - Amsterdam, The Netherlands<br />27/6 - Bratislava, Slovakia (Topfest)<br />29/6 - Singen-Aach, Germany<br />30/6 - Dessel, Belgium (Graspop)<br />3/7 - Lodz, Poland<br />4/7 - Gdansk, Poland<br />6/7 - Oberhausen, Germany<br />10/7 - Malmö, Sweden<br />13/7 - Stockholm, Sweden<br />16/7 - St. Petersburg, Russia<br />18/7 - Moscow, Russia<br />20/7 - Helsinki, Finland</p><p>23/7 - Sofia, Bulgaria <strong>(rumor)</strong></p><p>24/7 - Bucharest, Romania</p><p>26/7 - Istanbul, Turkey</p><p>29/7 - Prague, Czech Republic</p><p>31/7 - Zagreb, Croatia</p><p><br />22/9 - Rio De Janeiro, Brazil (Rock In Rio)</p><p>26/9 - Cordoba, Brazil <strong>(rumor)</strong></p><p>27/9 - Buenos Aires, Argentina <strong>(rumor)</strong></p><p>30/9 - Santiago, Chile <strong>(rumor)</strong></p>

If they do Download, it's 99% of the time their only UK show that year.Hmmm may go and see em one of these tours, they come here every 2-3 years.I will do everything in my power to see them on this tour!My advice: see them this tour! Even if you have to travel a bit, this is a show you can't miss. I've seen Maiden on 6 different tours (Early Days, A Matter Of Life And Death, Somewhere Back In Time, The Final Frontier first leg, The Final Frontier second leg, Maiden England) and this is absolutely hands-down the best Maiden tour I've seen by a long shot! Guest Satanisk_Slakt
So it will be another back in the days tour? I might go. The one in 2005 where they only played songs from their five first albums was great! One of the very best concerts I've ever been to. Graeme
Tempting... have to see who else is Headlining. You flying over Powerage?I've heard tell that Rammstein are one of the others... Not my thing at all, but seeing as I'll be skint it's unlikely I'll be going.
Powerage5
Tempting... have to see who else is Headlining. You flying over Powerage? Not for Donington. I'm not too big on festivals to begin with, and Donington is so massive. My mom and I's plan as of right now is wait until most of the dates are announced, and do the longest stretch without too many festivals, which will probably end up being Scandinavia. The only festival I'd really like to go to is Hellfest.
Powerage5
Some setlist talk from Bruce:Bruce has hinted that the setlist may not change at all for 2013. "The setlist is unbelievable. I don't think we'll be changing it around much...I mean what are you gonna change? It's just really...it's a perfect balance, drama and stuff. You really don't need to do that much in terms of talking to the audience, you can just run the whole thing in one piece, its brilliant." - Kerrang Podcast

DieselDaisy
I once saw Maiden with Blaze Bayley, former singer from Wolfsbane, a sweaty fat bloke jumping around in a baseball cap. I think it was in support of an album called Virtual Eleven. Good gig mind. Although not the biggest Maiden fan I wouldn't mind seeing the Dickenson line-up just once. How many shows do you think you'll do next year?In the ballpark of 5. Stockholm, then somewhere in Norway and Finland are give-ins. Not sure about the other 2, depends on what bookends the Nordics. Possibilities are St. Petersburg, Moscow, Copenhagen, etc. I've got a funny feeling they might go back to Estonia next year, and that would definitely be one to do! We'll see when the rest of the dates get announced - fingers crossed for Bergen again...really amazing gig in 2010!
Powerage5
Just got our Stockholm tickets in the presale with the help of another FC member - apparently on Ticnet.se they don't accept payment from credit/debit cards outside of Europe. $97 for standing tickets...not too bad.
