Black Sabbath Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Not bad. The music is good, and the vocals (as in Chris' voice) are good, but the actual singing seems a bit out of place. I think this song is more of a grower, but after one listen, I like the Avengers song more so far.Still very excited for the rest of the album. Quote
Black Sabbath Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Yep, definitely a grower. I like it. Quote
WhazUp Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 Sounds fantastic! You can definately tell Matt Cameron is taking some of his influence from Pearl Jam over to Soundgarden. He wrote poppier songs for Pearl Jam like the The Fixer and it wouldn't surprise me if he was the mind behind Been For Too Long Quote
bran Posted September 26, 2012 Posted September 26, 2012 it is alright not bad i like their more doom influenced stuff the most but this is not bad Quote
chevelle Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 (edited) I'm not digging it. Cornell's voice is SHOT, and the song itself isn't that strong. Here's hoping the rest of the album is better. Edited September 28, 2012 by chevelle Quote
Black Sabbath Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 I'm not digging it. Cornell's voice is SHOT, and the song itself isn't that strong. Here's hoping the rest of the album is better.I think his voice sounds pretty damn good considering his age and the way he's been singing for however many years.Like I said though, the song definitely has grown on it, and I expect the rest of the album to be better. I think this is one of those singles that's OK, but they more-so released this song because it's their "Hey, we're back - look at the title of the song!" song. Quote
Randy Lahey Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 It's disappointing, but I'm not surprised. Quote
Turn_It_Up Posted September 29, 2012 Posted September 29, 2012 (edited) Cornell's voice far from shot. Anyone who caught the last SG tour(or his solo acoustic tour) could tell you that.He changes his vocals a lot, so just sounds different on some material vs. others.... chevelle Posted September 30, 2012 Posted September 30, 2012 He still sounds great in lower ranges, but I really don't like how his higher register sounds at all these days. Quote
Spoon87 Posted October 31, 2012 Posted October 31, 2012 Cornell's voice far from shot. Anyone who caught the last SG tour(or his solo acoustic tour) could tell you that.Word!I just preordered the album with 5 bonus demos via amazon. I can't wait for November 9th. Quote
