It makes this place less interesting for me, and presumably many others who aren't here just for dicking around, hanging out with friends, enjoying the drama, but are here because they are actually fans of Guns N' Roses and would delight in the opportunity of talking with a band member even if that band member can't answer our questions in regards to the future of the band. What happened was the opposite of what I would expect to see at a fan site. Critical questions are well and good, but to attack Bumblefoot as if he's the one with the answers or the one steering M/S GN'R, is just silly and destructive and the way it transpired, staggeringly offensive and immature. The cupcakes won, Ron's gone. The only times he has ever posted here was to do damage control. So when you put that logic together, not as big of a deal as you guy are making. You guys act like he was a frequent visitor when all he ever did here was come here and back track.A lot of you whiners weren't even in the chats when all this shit was happening, because if you were, you'd realize Bumble was answering my questions very civially. It was only when he apparently misintrepreted a response to Ali he stomped his feet, pouted, and stormed off like a baby back bitch.And for all of you slamming the kid who got him to come here, I understand posting PMs are looked down upon, but that's the name of the game, and it's Bumble's fault for being that naive. It's his fault for telling a random, annoymous fan what he told him, with no amount of emphasis that it was a joke, and then act fucking baffled it got leaked to the community. Well, maybe he should just have the two or three functioning brain cells that are required to realize that he shouldn't talk shit about the internal structures of the "band" (cause God knows this wasn't the first time, twitter rant back in May or June, anybody?), and the whole mess could've had been avoided. I like how pissy he got at the kid too. If he was really just joshin', why berate and offend the kid to the extent he did? It was all just in good fun, right? And then to have the mods throw the kid under the bus, after they CHOSE to let the topic stay, and CHOSE to let the kid talk, and then only give him the boot because Bumble had a hissy about it? Pfftt. Can't have it both ways. If the mods were so against that shit, they should've nipped it in the bud BEFORE Bumble had his little adolescent temper tantrum about it. But I think I pretty much dealt with that in my previous post. I'd even go as far to say that if you choose to directly communicate with fans over twitter, facebook etc you have to realize that this may also lead to complex situations. And as a musician it's sort of your job and responsibility to handle yourself with that. You have to realize there will always be some assholes who won't be able to handle this. For the record, I believe that Ron has always been incredibly good to fans in terms of niceness, openness, communication etc. A certain redhead should take a page out of Bumble's book when it comes to that. But I also think he should know what to say and what not to say. As a musician you can't just assume that things you tell a fan (not a friend, a fan) on facebook stay private. It's sad, but it's just the way it is. So yeah, some behavior from the people on here is just plain sad. But it's also your job as a musician and a public figure to handle this and choose your words carefully. The eyes and ears are always on you. It's not wrong, but it's not pretty either. Plus, the golden rule of the internet is and always will be that 50% of the people on there are a bunch of fucking assholes. You just have to accept that sometimes.Especially the last sentence. You have to realize when you choose to communicate this way with fans, that some WILL be absolute assholes. I'm not saying it's right. Just that you have to know, as a public figure, that they WILL do it. And you have to (be able to) deal with that. Especially when you're so open and direct with the fans and the internet. He came here to save face or to explain that he was joking in the personal conversation with Ignaliza -- you make the choice, then he stayed long enough to answer some questions.
