Best GN'R songs to cover with one guitar?

Recommended Posts

WTTJ and Rocket Queen for sure, both guitars play pretty much the same shit, except for the verses on RQ's, but you won't miss the rhythm on it anyways (there's also that outro riff that is slightly different for each player, though they do play the same riffing in the middle of the outro). On the other hand, there's a lot of twin guitar thingy on Don't Cry, TBH. Both Izzy and Slash are playing key parts on the melody.

Coma and IRS are also good, if you have an ERG, drop tunned, of course, or an octave pedal (or the Whammy DT, which pretty much gives you both), you would be able to do bass lines as well.

If you are familiar with 8 finger tapping you would be able to do a half decent Better, but... nah, it still sounds like shit. Nevermind that.

I agree about WTTJ; but on RQ chorus, the parts are also very different, Slash's part is much easier, and Izzy's sounds more interesting and gives the groove to the chorus imo :)

Well, the chorus is also pretty much the same, Izzy's part has those double stops in the end of each section, but since Slash doesn't play anything while Izzy is playing those high parts, except for sustaining the last notes from his section, all you gotta do is play Izzy's version and you're not losing anything, IMO.

Yeah the duel guitar sound really makes RQ for me also

If you combine Slash and Izzy's parts, Mr. Brownstone can sound really cool with one guitar, It's So Easy is another one you can get away with but you do miss the rhythm guitar during the solo and outro lead
