Ron doesn't shred as much as he did in 2006, in fact nowhere near. Now he seems to follow the songs structure and play solos more or less note for note.

Maybe Axl asked him to. And maybe that's why he has a bad temper lately and indulges in abusing fans.

lol

It is because he's terrible enough to think that this awful shit sounds good. Go out in the woods, Ron, and never return. I am surprised to say it, but I think I might dislike him even more than Finch, if you can imagine that.

Can you give an example of anyone being abused by Bumblefoot who didn't hurl insults or lies at him first?

As for the OP's question: I'm inclined to say that if your only tool is a hammer then you consider every problem a nail, but in Bumblefoot's case I think it's more a case of bad taste. He does play more melodic now, though.

If you cant play with feel, you shredd it.

Bucket could do both, Bumble can shredd.

The current state of GnR is boring as hell.

Not a big fan of Bumble's shredding on GNR songs. I do love when he does his own stuff like the Pink Panther theme.

Normal rock stars playing in huge name bands, don't get involved in cock-fights with fans. This is childish immature behavior. They just live their lives and do so without telling fans that they 'keep living'.

You're used to people that dont give a fuck about fans. Happily Ron's not one of those people, I'm glad.

Question: Why does Richard shred on KOHD?

No, he abused fans in here verbally and probably should stop lying to people...maybe then, they'd respect bumblefoot.

Deja vu

If I were Ron, I'd scour the threads filled with complaining basement dwellers and make notes. Then do everything they complain about all at one show.

Ron doesn't shred as much as he did in 2006, in fact nowhere near. Now he seems to follow the songs structure and play solos more or less note for note. But on the instances where he does do it, as long as its done in a tastefully way then I've got no problems with it. Rather hear that than an extremely bad solo which is trying to copy the original.

I agree with you.

I think there's two likely reasons why he now plays 90% of the solos more or less note for note. The first is that in 2006 he had little rehearsal time and aside from not being allowed to have a copy of Chinese Democracy to rehearse with, he probably didn't have a whole lot of time to really study the old material.

The second is that the guy really listens to people and fans. A lot of people complained about his "mindless shredding" over many of the solos in 2006, namely You Could Be Mine. Half the time I think he was just improvising because he hadn't learned the material. By the time 2009 rolled around he probably figured the least he could do for the fans is study and learn the material properly.

The reason he probably went to the big shredding on say 14 Years is likely because they only rehearsed that song a day or two before. Ron has an incredible ear and can figure out virtually anything on the spot. He probably winged the first half of the solo which was pretty close to the original and then said "screw it" for the rest and had a bit of fun. I really didn't mind his shredding there. It was different, but more controlled than some of his 2006 solos.
