Why not? it would be good to hear some AG or TAY even Out'ta get me

Why the fuck they can't play, TWAT, Catcher, Prostitute, Oh My God, Scraped, I.R.S., Goin' Down,

TWAT: maybe because it's too hard for Axl now at this circumstances( long shows, plus he is ill)

catcher: boring as fuck

Prostitute: i think Axl never play this song again.

OMG: it is a possibility. we will see

Scraped. too much of a filler song

I.R.S: maybe

Goin' down: i have no idea, but htis is just another cover. Nothing exciting

Bumblefoot already said that is a song from Chinese Democracy Sessions.

source?

It's from some chat here, or at Guns N' Roses site chat. I remember he said the song is "earthy".

They don't even have to play new songs, they could do so much with just minor changes:

- different sequencing (same songs but different order)

- opening with a real killer track instead of Chinese Democracy

- the Live Era version of You're Crazy

- a slow blues version of You Could Be Mine

- acoustic version of Civil War (Axl's vocals would come out so much better when done acoustic, same with Catcher)

- a blues jam instead of the solo spots

- an a capella spot/intro for Axl

- Breakdown

- There Was A Time

- Locomotive

- Catcher In The Rye

- Coma

- Prostitute

- Oh My God

- Dead Horse

- IRS

- Perfect Crime

- Rhiad

- Sympathy For The Devil (or anything Stones)

- a Led Zeppelin cover (not just Dizzy, the full band with Axl on vocals)

- a Doors cover

- some Bowie (again the full band not just Dizzy)

- some Beatles

- ditch or rotate KOHD in favour of the Neil Young song (wich imo is an awesome cover choice...but also yet one more ballad)

All these are more or less realistic options, most of these have even been hinted at or actually rehearsed at some point. But what do they do? Jungle/Easy/Brownstone...in exactly the same way and sequence every night...

It would be interesting to know how many posters aren't going because they know Axl won't be doing any new songs at these shows.

New songs would definitely tempt me to buy plane tickets to see the shows.

Same. I would have gone if they were playing CD II songs.

Why not replace all the covers with their "own" songs? I don't understand. Instead of Riff Raff why no play The Garden for instance? Instead of Another Brick in the Wall why not play Pretty Tied Up? Instead of Live and Let Die why not play Yesterday? Who's decision is this? I don't get it.

I won't be satisfied with any setlist until there is brand new original music on it.

so maybe stop paying attention to the setlists until the band is touring in support of the next album?

Maybe he just wants his favorite band to put out more music that he loves to listen to. Even if he stops paying attention to the setlists until a new album it does not negate his sentiments that he won't be satisfied until there is new music. Or do you just want him to stop being vocal about his dissatisfaction? Serious question, not being a dick or anything.

Nice to see them throw in "Out Ta Get Me", but still...same old shit. If their plan is to slightly alter the set lists like they did last night then this "tour" is gonna get old quick. I'm not expecting new music since I'm convinced this band actually has no new music, but if you're going to do 12 shows in one venue you really should think of a way to majorly vary each set list.

if you take away the solos and covers GNR plays

the same length as most bands.

Metallica also played 20 songs last time I saw them.

this 3hr thing is a hype.

if you read the setlist again you will see that they played 26 whole songs.

I counted 23 songs with Axl Rose on vocals.

Just for shits and giggles, here's an idea for improving the setlist without straying too far from the beaten path:

Welcome To The Jungle

It's So Easy

Mr. Brownstone

Live And Let Die

- Axl introduces the band -

- Richard solo -

You're Crazy (bluesy electric Live Era-ish version)

Locomotive

Better

Dead Horse / Breakdown (rotation)

You Could Be Mine

- Axl solo / Prostitute piano instrumental -

November Rain

- DJ solo -

Sweet Child O' Mine

Patience / Don't Let It Bring You Down (rotation)

- Tommy or Dizzy solo (rotation) -

Estranged / There Was A Time (rotation)

The General or just ANY new original song

Outta Get Me / Shackler's Revenge (rotation)

- Ron solo -

Civil War / Knockin' On Heaven's Door (rotation)

Rocket Queen

Encore:

Coma

This I Love / Street Of Dreams (rotation)

Nightrain

Paradise City

Something like that is realistic as far as light, pyros and Axl's timeouts go, it would make every concert a lot more special and shut about everyone bitching about the setlist up. Is it that hard to combine the greatest hits revue with just a little something for the hardcore fans? The band can play the current set in their sleep and at this is just how they sound. Every concert is exactly the same.

I know, I know...if you don't like it don't listen...you are just a crazy internet fan...they play for the people in attendance that night...blablabla...but still no one in his right mind can deny such a set would be plain awesome and it would make both random and hardcore fans attend multiple shows again just to get something they didn't get the other five times before.
