I'm leaving for Vegas in a few hours, I'm stoked! :D

Izzy, Catcher and likely TWAT... Maybe some 14 Years? Oooooooooooh I'm excited :D

After the shows one the 23/24 I'll post whatever photos I take on my iphone on my facebook, if anyone cares, then more photos from my camera on the 25 when I get home.

I just read on blabbermouth.net that the show that was filmed in 3D will be released at a later date.

I really hope this means that we can expect a dvd/blue ray combo at some time in the near future. I would also love a live cd too.

I guess it's up to Axl, but you know, since Izzy is coming for the last two shows, it would be awesome if they could add the songs that Izzy sings with GNR too.

I hope they use a vocal recording, other than the board recording. Axl's sound coming out of the speakers live at the show is so damn spot on it's amazing. Better than any of the dozen times I saw them in between 1988 and 1993. I've seen them 17 times since 2001, and the shows I saw in 2010, 2011, and 2012 were the best he's ever sounded. For whatever reason, the board does not quite catch the full dynamics of his range, and also Axl and Mayhue have figured out exactly how to get the sound live for the crowd damn near perfect (or as good as it gets for a live show). The guy can flat out wail, and everyone who has actually been at a show can attest to that. In multiple US cities in 2011, the radio DJ's were very suspicious of GN'R's live performance PRIOR to the SHOW (they hadn't seen them in years, and just repeated the negative media crap slung around over the years, which most times was inaccurate); and then the day after the show were on the air claiming that "it may have been the best hard rock show I've ever seen" or "best show I've seen in years". All would praise how damn good Axl sounded. Even most critics, who go to the shows, comment on how great Axl sounds live. Almost all of the Vegas reviews, done by critics at the show, comment on how great Axl sounds. At the show, he is on the money. The crowd youtube recordings are good, but the dry, limited board recordings do not quite capture his full tenor. This has been the case going back to their origins in 85. The guy has a very unique, multi-layered voice, which is best experienced and appreciated in person.

So my recommendation, is to find some source for the vocals similar to whatever source "I Don't Care About Time" Tokyo 2009 used, on this 3-D recording. Many of the great concert movies, pre-2000's, used different sources for the sound than the board (which is so damn dry and doesn't capture the audience vibe either). Think "Song Remains the Same, or the Stone's "Ladies and Gentlemen, The Rolling Stones". Or GN'R's MTV, 1988 special "Live at the Ritz". Those were not board recordings, and the sound is so much more organic! I know they have professionally recorded sound from these shows other than the soundboard, and that is what they should use. It would be a shame if they didn't!

Is there a good recording (the one that u say with the "tom mayhue" recording method) of a 2011/2012 show? what recordings are you talking about?

All over on Youtube! You Could be Mine with Duff from the 02, numerous high quality audience recordings from the audience of the US tour. Have you not been to a live show during the past few years?

saw them last year, yeah it was amazing, was like hearing the 90s axl but it was cuz it was too loud and with many people screaming and guitars, you just couldnt analyze the voice at the moment
