bacardimayne Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Inglourious Basterds .This, too.Really? That movie's probably in my top 5. Quote
Dazey Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Alien 3. What a godawful let down after two amazing films.Really like Alien 3. Alien 4 however........................... Quote
Roush Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Dude, Aliens is huge. The amount of progression from 1 - 2 was crazy. Then the drop from 2 - 3 was immensely disappointing. Quote
SunnyDRE Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 while i do agree with the matrix sequels being on this list...i just gotta say this..the first film was so well done there was was no way they were going to be able to top it.sequels aren't great, but they are far from bad...Inglourious Basterds .This, too.Really? That movie's probably in my top 5.brad pitt was wrong in that rolegive it to some less known actor with a real "southern accent" and it becomes one of tarentino's best. Quote
Georgy Zhukov Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 The Matrix Sequels.Agreed. Even though Reloaded is a fun movie, it's an underwhelming follow-up to the first one. I saw it in theaters when I was eleven so I enjoyed the action and still think the highway chase is amazing, but in retrospect it lacks the more compelling narrative of the first. Revolutions starts off very strong but I totally lost interest by the time the the battle with the machines started. Impressive effects, but it became overly long and really dragged the movie down. Also, as a Bond fan, Quantum of Solace was a major letdown after the excellent Casino Royale. All I remember from Matrix Reloaded was the 5 hour slow motion rave, the 25 minute highway chase (which was awesome) and Monica Belucci.Revolutions was a little better. That's all I'll say.If you're referring to my Godfather II answer, I said it's still a great movie (like 9/10 good), I just don't think it's as good as the original. I guess it doesn't belong in the "most disappointing movies of all time" thread though. Quote
luciusfunk Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 I think he's referring to The Dark Knight Rises. Quote
batman007 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Dark Knight Rises was absoloute garbage.Bane sucked, everybody was completely out of character and that's not Robin, what the fuck were they thinking?Don't even give me that stupid "Well Nolan was trying to make his own realistic version of the universe" Shut the fuck up!That doesn't excuse this piece of shit! If you did like it, odds are you know nothing of batman anyway and have no valid opinion. That and the Dragonball movie. I dont even have to say anything about that, it would just never end.I loved TDKR! And know a shit load about Batman! I have tons of comics and books about Batman. And so much more! They will prob never make a movie the way the comic is. That is Hollywood. I do like that Nolan did get a whole bunch of different ideas from various comics and books. Quote
Dan H. Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 What are some movies that you invested a lot of hope and anticipation into, only to be incredibly disappointed and let down? For me, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a clear example of this. I'm REALLY worried that The Hobbit will end up being another example of a film I invested a lot of hope in only to have it not meet my expectations.Didn't you bitch at ER back in the day when he was criticizing that movie, and didn't you tell him Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was the bestest thing ever? wasted Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 I dont really get too anticiaped on movies. I suppose Terminator Salvation was a little bit of a let down but having seen 4 times it still kind of cool in its own way. Quote
chevelle Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Prometheus. As an Alien fan, I was pissed off.Yup. I love the Alien movies and I left Prometheus trying to piece together what the fuck I even watched. Quote

Black Sabbath Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Prometheus. As an Alien fan, I was pissed off.Yup. I love the Alien movies and I left Prometheus trying to piece together what the fuck I even watched.I didn't think it was that confusing, really. Sure, it provided more questions than is answered, but I loved it and can't wait for the sequel to a prequel. Quote
bacardimayne Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 I liked TDKR but it was easily the worst of the trilogy. Felt rushed and poorly paced. Quote
AxlisOld Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 I've heard people from the area near where Brad Pitt was from in Inglorious Basterds, and they say mountainous Kenatucky folk sound like that. As far as The Dark Knight Rises goes, I thought it was great, but there was no way to match Ledger. Quote
bran Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 robocop 2i still like it, but it pales in comparison to the originali guess robocop 3 can be thrown in since that was the clusterfuck to end all cluster fucksgodfather III Quote
Roush Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Shit, Predator 2.Although, it was awesomely campy, and had Danny Glover. Quote

AxlisOld Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 I didn't find Iron Man 2 disappointing at all. Quote
Rovim Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 (edited) I didn't find Iron Man 2 disappointing at all. There were 2 iron man dudes high fiving each other with that laser thing...they just made that movie bigger in everyway, but it didn't have much substance imo. Redhead74 Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 I haven't seen one single film in all these posts. I think I spend too much time reading and sewing. Anyway, it's interesting to note that almost all of the films mentioned are sequel films which is sending out a BIG message: don't bother with sequels. They're obviously just money spinners after a hugely successful first film and those involved put almost no effort in at all to making it good. They're just trading off the success of the original and are having a laugh at your expense. Fuck Hollywood. Just wait for the DVD or even better, the TV broadcast. I actually don't know why people bother these days. I read all the reviews before I go and see a film or am very wary if a film has a massive advertising budget. It often (but not always) indicates that the film turned out shit and they are depending on promotion to get bums in seats. Quote
