Kill Devil Hill Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Dune........I am a big fan of the original Dune trilogy books and was really looking forward to it when it came out but they totally butchered it..........The movie was awful. I don't even know how they managed to tear apart such a spectacular book.TDKR was slightly disappointing (Bane is boring, rushed at times), but it was still excellent, and the ending was fantastic. JeanGenie Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Well I wouldn't put TDKR in the "most disappointing movie ever" category. I really disliked the fact that Bane is built up as the ultimate evil during the movie and in the end he gets killed quickly by a supporting character. thats just lame. I also disliked that Nolan tears everything down. At this point where Bruce Wayne looses all his money and health it stopps being a super hero movie. What I do like is the strong social criticism that gives you a little hint on what Nolan seems to think where the american society is going.Matrix is a great film but its basicly a copy of the movie Dark City. Of course the Wachowskis couldnt come up with a proper sequel since they didnt come up with the original film neither.Super Man Returns was a huge let down for me. Quote

Haven't seen IM 2 yet, the first one was greatLoved the first Iron Man. Hopefully, the third movie will deliver.I haven't seen one single film in all these posts. I think I spend too much time reading and sewing. Anyway, it's interesting to note that almost all of the films mentioned are sequel films which is sending out a BIG message: don't bother with sequels. They're obviously just money spinners after a hugely successful first film and those involved put almost no effort in at all to making it good. They're just trading off the success of the original and are having a laugh at your expense. Fuck Hollywood. Just wait for the DVD or even better, the TV broadcast. I actually don't know why people bother these days. I read all the reviews before I go and see a film or am very wary if a film has a massive advertising budget. It often (but not always) indicates that the film turned out shit and they are depending on promotion to get bums in seats.I disagree. Toy Story 3 was great for example. Quote
Tater Totts Posted November 25, 2012 Posted November 25, 2012 Toy Story 1-3 is the greatest film trilogy of all time! Quote
