Bumblefoot: “We didn’t record in Vegas. I don’t know about future music or dvd releases. I don’t know if we’ll tour next year. It’s outta my hands."

It is dissapointing that my favorite rock singer has little interest in sharing his music with his millions of fans.

How in the world does the lead guitar player not know the bands plans for the upcoming year?

One album in 15 years. Which was released over 4 years ago. How is it humanly possible that band members don't know when the next one is coming out? This should be a major topic within the band.

Maybe he doesn't know. Or maybe, as BBF has said in the past on multiple occasions, he will not be the one to publicly state and/or confirm GN'R's plans. He may be leaving that up to management to make official through the Twitter/Facebook/official site channels like they did with the Jimmy Kimmel interview and the Vegas Residency, etc. Or, even secondary sources of information, like promoters for shows, etc.

Stop trying to rationalize in the favor of delusion.

This isn't a band. It is an irritable cash grab funding Axl Rose's retirement. The band knows, we (most of us) know. That's why Fernando, and Team Brazil are so brazenly defensive when we question the integrity of the GN'R name. As if one of us opining the "Chinese Democracy World Tour Part V" may not be the best thing for Guns 'N' Roses -- we are terrible, sad human beings who do not deserve to reciprocate carbon dioxide. Because 'damn us', and our opinions. Poor Fernando. He just wants to recharge his trust fund. :(

To us -- it's a band. A very sincere, very powerful band that once existed.

To them -- it's a cash crop.

Funny. You go into a strawman argument/rant about Fernando, whom I never brought up, and I'm the one rationalizing in favor of delusion? Ok....

After watching this and reading this thread I think I am beginning to understand why my mic was never sent back to me.

Yikes.

How can my office of 500 function and have better internal communication than a band of 7 fucking people who travel around the world with each other?

Do you seriously think there is any connection between your situation with The Joint's security and the band recording material?

I'm sorry you got screwed out of getting the mic, but, honestly, I don't see any connection given that you stated it was The Joint's security that took it back from you.

I don't believe I ever said that. My overarching point is dysfunction. GnR, from basically Day One, has been all sorts of dysfunctional.

Back in the '90, it was kinda cool. We got albums. We got tours. We never knew what to expect, but when we got it, it usually kicked ass.

Now? This shit is just tired. Members of the band having no clue what their immediate future holds? Give me a fucking break already.

Outside of the macro level lessing of interest in RnR in society in general, which is obviously a major factor, there is a reason why the masses have had it with this band already, and this is just a singular example of that.

For the record BTW, the Hard Rock apparently has an 'extra Axl mic lying around', whatever the hell that means, and they are sending it to me. At least I hope they are. The band never sent me the one I caught before skipping town. For whatever reasons you would lke to attribute that to I guess. Whatever. I'm getting a mic, and that's MORE than fine by me at this point.

With all due respect, you said, "After watching this and reading this thread I think I am beginning to understand why my mic was never sent back to me." Sounds to me like you're trying to draw something of a common theme or thread between what happened to you and what may or may not be happening with the band and their recording plans, or what they may or may not be communicating publicly. I'm sorry, but I just don't see any connection given there was a third party involved in your mic situation.

Like I said before, don't confuse the band not saying anything publicly with not knowing what the future holds. They may know, and may just not want to be the ones to divulge plans. Or, plans may not be finalized and as such nothing will be stated publicly. There are other explanations besides the extreme perspective of being completely in the dark.

If the masses have had it with this band, I think it hassle to do with he membership changes and the time gaps in new material.

Translated; "I am hurt and pissed that Axl, at the age of 50, will not bury the hatchet with some guy cause there is money to be made and cause I want him to".

lolwut

Translated: I wish my favorite singer would release more than one album every fifteen years.

He did when he was in his prime and building his musical catalog. Sucks you missed it. You act like he waits 15 for every one. Dude, he is fucking old man. He doesn't have to compete anymore.

I think it's easy to be idealistic early on, of course the first record is the most important but a band have to evolve if it wants to have longevity. Maybe that isn't cool. Even The Stones had to compromise and play the game. Half the band wanted to go out like The Sex Pistols and the other wanted to have a career. Those guys are legends cos they got out at the top, they are like rock immortals. But the guy who wanted to complete his dream and carry on with what he worked for gets ranked over the coals. There is no right and wrong about it, it's just choices.

I agree, but the Sex Pistols were a handpicked boy band of Punk. They are not respected as real punk music. They are the KISS of punk music sans the catalog. Perhaps the most overrated band of all time IMO. I don't see your analogy there. Problem is here is Axl does not have the drive to create each morning cause sometimes he wakes up, and feels 50. I don't know why people keep forgetting this. He doesn't have the drive cause he has been to the mountaintop.

People round here keep thinking there is the cornucopia of artists out there who keep/maintain their drive to be AL THEY CAN BE till they are 100. Most do what Axl is doing. Sit back, enjoy the ride, play some shows, write if they get a hair up their ass, or don't.

I give him credit cause when he charges money for his services, he delivers. After than, who gives a shit? Are you gonna say CD wasn't word 12.99 or 1.29 for the one song you liked?

Wasted, you are right man, dude cant win.

Not really comparing music, just how the Pistols imploded or self destructed leaving basically one album which is perfect to those fans. They didn't try to have a 30 year career. And sometimes you think, there's an alluring myth to that. Izzy said the stones should have died when they were still cool, so it makes sense he bowed out.

But Axl likes Elton, basically a puffed out 60 year old piano player who sports a dead animal on his head. But he writes great music. Even the Lion King theme is awesome. Axl doesnt seem like he got into it to do James Dean, he didn't go for the romantic thing of dying young. Or he changed his mind.
