I wouldn't mind if the album was literally part two of CD.

CD, imo, is the best rock album of the last decade.

Maybe make the next on a little less polished and a bit more raw.......but all in all, I would be ecstatic if we got another album the same quality as CD in terms of songs.

Maybe it's not the sound but what the songs are about. CD is about living under the oppression of the music industry and media. So if the second batch of songs with Fortus are more about liberation from expectations maybe it will have a different title.

That's what I'm saying, if it sounds like CD surely it will be called CD II.

But if somewhere between electronica with full guitars and Fortus songs maybe they will call it something else because it isn't CD. It will have a different tone, sonically and lyrically.

Like monkey guy said, it will be less whining about the situation. I think that ended when Sorry and Shackler's was released.

So even if its self titled it will sound like CD?

thats never happened before each record has a unique sound.

Well, Axl did say he always thought about Chinese Democracy as a double album. He said there were 26 songs done, and 6 more almost done. That was in 2006.

I think Use Your Illusion was like that. A double album with the same sound and vision. Chinese is the same, difference is we only got half of it.

There are at least 18 unreleased songs from the Chinese sessions. I think that's cd2, and Axl will release that with mostly Bucket and Robin. He did say it's 'the same players' and even commented on the sound of it (meaner, darker) and that if you didn't like that, you won't like this or something.

All of that makes me believe that it will be the same sound.

And btw, Axl said that he would love to release another album, and I think he will if only because he wouldn't want to release just half of his vision.

why would he release the leftovers of an already flopped album?

Because it wasn't a flop. It sold well. Besides, musicians with at least some integrity don't release albums just for financial reasons. I think for Axl it was always more then that.

axl saying he saw it as a double is why i thought it would be called CD II. But people think not. Also there seems to be a difference between the sets of songs. Also Fortus wrote stuff after 2002?

so although he has songs from the same period they may be diiferent sounding like the electeonica with full guitars. Or the Fortus stuff.

even if its not called CD II? will it still have the tapestry stylw of CD?

I can quite confidently say I have no clue about that, and I am pretty certain neither does anyone else posting in this thread.

AXL did say at somepoint the other material didnt fit together with CD. Early on he said thdre was CDand a more electronica based album. So...im not sure what that means now.

Exactly, we have no clue, and if we are to go by history, the only think we can expect is that it will be different. GN'R is all about change and evolution.
