gunsguy
Guns N’ Roses is in India! And after 24 hours of non-stop travel you wouldn’t expect them to be so fired up but that’s exactly what they are! Brought to India by MOOZ Entertainment to play for an epic 180 minutes in Bangalore, Mumbai and Gurgaon, one by one the band filtered out of the Bangalore International airport this morning…and one by one each of them energetically shared their sincere excitement about being in India and their desire to start experiencing Indian culture and meeting the fans. While Axl Rose is arriving later in the day, the rest of the band is here and planning on getting out into the city to try the local cuisine, jam around in a rickshaw, shop for spices and silks and visit temples. The final line-up for the GN’R Live India Tour consists of Axl Rose (legendary singer/songwriter), Dizzy Reed (keyboards), DJ Ashba (guitar), Tommy Stinson (bass), Richard Fortus (guitar), Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (guitar), Chris Pitman (keyboards) and Frank Ferrer (drums). Each member of Guns N’ Roses has their own plan of attack for India – from partying with the fans to embarking on an introspective spiritual journey – and they can’t wait to start their day in Bangalore. Here’s what a few of them had to say: Richard Fortus (guitar) shared, “I’m most excited to visit the temples around India so I can’t wait to maximize my free time and experience the cultural gifts of this amazing country.” DJ Ashba (guitar) came off the flight fresh and ready for anything it seemed! He said, “I look forward to meeting each n’ everyone in Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi! I can’t wait to hang with the fans!!” Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal (guitar) is travelling with his wife, the lovely Jen who is a veterinarian back home in the U.S. Ron was in fine spirits, “Just landed in Bangalore! We’re here! FINALLY!! Been waiting a lifetime for this…! The history and culture, the people, and delicious food… All my friends who have gone to India have said it was life-changing – I look forward to experiencing this, and thank you for what is to come.” Jen had this to say: “I have so many Indian friends back home in New Jersey and they always talk about how lovely India is…I’m feeling blessed to be here and finally see what they’ve been talking about. I can’t wait to go shopping for saris and scarves and just take in the beauty of this country. As a veterinarian I would love to have more time here to volunteer with the non-profit groups dedicated to helping animals but hopefully next time!” Chris Pitman, who co-produced and played multiple instruments for Chinese Democracy, confessed that, “Ever since reading about how the The Beatles spent time in Rishikesh in February 1968 I’ve been interested in the spiritual aspect of India. And of course I’ve always been influenced by Indian music so I can’t wait to see some local acts! I love curries and we are lucky in Los Angeles to have really good Indian food…and now we finally get the chance to try the real deal here.” Guns N’ Roses is set to play in Bangalore on December 7th, in Mumbai on the 9th and in Gurgaon on the 12th.
