The obvious influences on the Chinese songs:

I know this topic has been discussed several times before, but It's an interesting one that still calls for speculation. On certain tunes you can hear the influence of several bands/tunes/styles. There are some though, where you can really narrow it down. Here's a few of mine, starting from the most obvious and ending with the least obvious:

Catcher in the Rye

Ozzy-Tonight

Sorry

Lennon-How do you sleep?

Prostitute

Fiona Apple-Limp

IRS

Aerosmith-Dream on

Rhiad

Led Zeppelin-Immigrant Song

Chinese Democracy

Nirvana-Drain you (Nirvana in general)

Better

School of Fish-Three Strange Days

If the World

Faith No More-Stripsearch (The band Massive Attack in general)

Unfinished Symphony is a good shout. Also always reminds me of You Stole The Sun From My Heart by the Manics. The way it goes from a chilled out drum loop into a big heavy guitar part. Both cracking tunes.

How is TWAT influenced by pearl jam? Have you ever heard a pearl jam song?

I'm sure Axl has his favorite musicians that inspire him.

Alot of musicians do that sometimes to honor their idols.

I still say most if not all the CD songs are a book about Axl's life. He's said he's always written about personal things, so I think that's what this album is. It's like a map of Axl's life up to now.

Whatever it is, I still like this cd very much and think Axl should be very proud of what he's written.

Im struggling on Twat. Its more the tone of the guitar on the early rifff but sounds like something off PJ self titled.

Twat is kind of the Gimme Shelter of CD.

Put the songs in lyrical chronology is interesting. Does the album end with Scraped and Sorry.
