saber_
DJ wears a tophat on stage often. Do you think it's an homage to Slash? What else do you think is symbolic about the hat? Aside from being an homage to Slash, I think that, given the hat's stitching and beat-up look, it also symbolizes Guns n Roses. The tophat has stitches in it, and as such is 'zombified' to some extent. It's been sewed together from different pieces. Metaphorically, GnR has been stitched back together. GnR, awoken from its slumber, back from the dead to walk the earth. What do you think?
Monty
I believe its an homage to Mick Mars (Motley Crue)
Matthias
I think he just likes it and thinks it looks cool, probably got the idea of wearing one by seeing Slash or Mick Mars.
useyorappetite
I think he should take it off. It doesn't do him any good looking like slash and he probably looks better without it. Get rid of the makeup and emohaircut while he's at it.
sweetness
I think it just symbolizes his corny Tim Burton influenced style

James Bond
Even though I'm far from a being a big Ashba supporter, I don't think he wears it because of Slash. I think it's definitely the Motley Crue influence, as well as that of Tim Burton.

Facekicker
A top hat doesn't make you iconic, your talent and what you produce from that talent does. DJ has a long long way to go to meet the likes of Mick Mars, Alice Cooper & Slash.
