Vincent Vega Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 What are some bands from the '90s that sounded very close to UYI era GN'R? That same bluesy piano yet rock direction? Quote
wasted Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) Cinderella on Heartbreak Station album I think. The More things Change was on the album. Edited February 11, 2013 by wasted Quote
sweetness Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 (edited) The last two EP's from Trophy Scars, Darkness, Oh Hell and Never Born, Never Dead remind me a lot of UYI era Guns N' Roses, as close as any band has come to that sound imo, not that it was their intention or anything. Very blusey and ruitsy rock with great lead guitar but also very powerful and a bit over the top with a unique gravely vocalist, much like UYI. These records came out in 2010 and 2011, doubt you'll find anything from the 90's thats as similar or close to as good. Definitely 2 of my favorite albums from the last 15 years. wasted Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Rust in Peace was produced by Mike Clink too. A lot of bands at the time had similar production. Like Faith No More and Soundgarden. But Cinderella came closest to Bad Obsession sounding stuff. Theres only one piano n punks band though. Quote
