wfse Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 (edited) If you've been on youtube lately you might have seen an ad play for the Governors Ball before videos. Yesterday the ad had Guns N' Roses named, but the current ad that is showing has crossed the name of the third act out. It doesn't seem to spell "Guns N' Roses" but I am certain I saw the same exact ad with GNR's name on it the other day. They are nowhere to be found on this one. I could only grab a screencap of this shot, but there is another frame where the name appears on its own, much larger and still crossed out. Are the organizers having second thoughts? Mansin Humanity Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 literally just came here to see if anyone posted about this. weird.
Tyler Drama Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 probably showing an old ad before they announced the 3rd act.
kanudo19 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 why did they hire stephen hawking to do the voice for the video ?

Are the organizers having second thoughts?Who cares about a video on youtube, the website still lists GN'R as a headliner.Oh the efforts people will go to to orchestrate drama.
dalsh327 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 (edited) That was the poster before GNR was announced, that You Tube clip was amusing... "old fashioned rock n' roll", "their habitual lateness.." Edited February 12, 2013 by dalsh327
saber_ Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Are the organizers having second thoughts? No. As another poster already pointed out, GnR is still listed as a headliner on the official site. But by all means, feel free to play Sherlock Holmes with a youtube ad. Don't worry broski, even though the petition's been stuck at 328 signatures(ohh, so sad) for almost a day now, I'm sure with you pushing and campaigning, all the millions of concerned fans will jump in any minute and make that petition skyrocket. Any minute now. Any minute broski.

See how that works?
jimb0 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Putting a box over the graphic is so amateur. Is it from an official account / reliable source?

Any minute now. Any minute broski. You're much too fixated on the petition aspect. The comments about this on facebook and twitter are damn near universally negative. People are bitching about just being able to purchase single day tickets to not have to deal with Axl. That's not a pretty picture to send to the organizer before tickets even go on sale. It's not a smart move for either party, and one of them should just back out.But hey, should make for an interesting outcome either way. Maybe Axl will be motivated to put his ass in gear for once, and prove us wrong. Doubt it though.
GNR123GNR456 Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Their still on the website, so whatever the hell this is, it's false.
Flayer Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 (edited) Judging by the Facebook comments, most of the people complaining on Facebook are just alternative rock fans who'd rather see a newer band like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs or Arctic Monkeys or Arcade Fire. I think the choice of any 80s rock band would get booed by these people - you'd see a shitstorm like this too if they'd signed Motley Crue or Sebastian Bach. They don't really differentiate Guns from 80s hair metal in general. Those complaining about Axl seem to know about him mostly by reputation for lateness and canceling shows - I doubt most of them have seen a GNR show, old or new lineup. Doubt it though. You know, when the single day tickets are released, people who actually want to see GN'R will buy tickets for GN'R's headlining day. I don't think anyone have to worry about bad ticket sales. There will be tons of people who normally wouldn't go see a GN'R concert, but aren't as negative as the facebook posters. People who are open to "new" and things diiferent from what they're used to.

To answer your question in the original nested quoted post- no I don't think the organizers are having second thoughts. An intrepid person emailed them and they seem confident in their decision. Carry on.
