Simple solution to that. Admit you're a solo act. Saying the past won't let him go is like saying the doughnut won't leave the fat kid alone.

My guess: Slash clearly still burns him IMHO. He seems to have made his peace with Duff- though I'm not sure he 100% trusts him. Seems to be taking things with cautious baby steps with Duff. I think he's jealous of Izzy's nomadic anonymity but is basically cool with him at this point.

Steph was a tough heartache and blow to his ego (perhaps most of all)- but I bet it's gotten easier for him with the passage of time and the revaltion that her marriage to Brandt wasn't the "fairy tale" ending the media portrayed the first few years- but rather pretty disastrous. Still a gorgeous woman- but TROUBLE for anyone. Hopefully he sees that now.

I'm not saying it's not his own fault that comes with keeping the name. I'm saying it's hard to be cool with your ex when people are comparing you all the time and liking him better. And then blaming you for the failing of relationship and telling you should reunite against your will etc. especially after CD came out and around HOF i bet it was a headache. This kid works in a doughnut shop.
