Screamin' Demon
His pattern of heavily layering his songs, extreme meticulousness, fine details and sound effects, his focus on immense emotional depth and his effort to take people away into a spiritual journey with his music ring very true of inspiration by Michael Cretu. izzydoezit
Cretu has produced many many albums since the 80s. Many hit songs in europe at least, and most of all he is a very respected artist. Axl is not really what you'd call respected. CD stuff is crap and it's quite an insult to compare it to Enigma's masterpieces.
Angelica
For a second, I thought this thread was titled 'Is Axl trying to be the Michael Cera of rock', which would've won thread of the month instantly.

But nonetheless it does still leave room for the question whether he tries to take inspiration from Cretu but just falls short of succeeding? tomfriend
Axl Rose is the Axl Rose of rock and that's enough. If you think so little of him that you think he's an imitator patterning his career on somebody else's, why bother caring?

Twinaleblood
Coming out: I don't know how many people in this forum is into 80s pop, but that "SAMURAI" song from Cretu was awesome. I also enjoy very much the stuff he produced for his wife Sandra, like In The Heat Of The Night and Maria Magdalena.
