Is Axl trying to be the Michael Cretu of rock?

Cretu has produced many many albums since the 80s. Many hit songs in europe at least, and most of all he is a very respected artist. Axl is not really what you'd call respected.

CD stuff is crap and it's quite an insult to compare it to Enigma's masterpieces.

As sad as it sounds, that is quite true. But nonetheless it does still leave room for the question whether he tries to take inspiration from Cretu but just falls short of succeeding?

Coming out: I don't know how many people in this forum is into 80s pop, but that "SAMURAI" song from Cretu was awesome. I also enjoy very much the stuff he produced for his wife Sandra, like In The Heat Of The Night and Maria Magdalena.

(*opens the umbrella to shelter from mygnr users throwing shit*)
