Post 2000 shows that are unreleased/hoarded/uncirculated

I liked the thing we had going in 09-10 where people were shooting the video screen - the Osaka 2009 show is really fun.

But then I think security was told to look for people shooting the screen because Osaka was such good quality, lol

Really? Did they stop any people?

People are so fucking gross. I hate hoarders.

Jman2000:

They're hoarding it because they're stupid, they know only few of them have it and they think it's "cool" to not share it. It has happened with bootlegs from the old days of Guns. Do you have any idea how many bootlegs are unreleased? Hundreds. The other day 2 of them from 1989 surfaced, and eventually we'll have the bootleg uploaded somewhere when an idiot pays whatever the price the holder is asking for them. It is how it works with rare material. :shrugs:

In this instance I agree with you guys - hoarding hoping to get a bunch of money out of something someday is fucked up. But I don't think it's fair to use that as a blanket definition for all hoarders. I've got some uncirculated Iron Maiden and Alice Cooper recordings, so I suppose that makes me a hoarder by definition. Personally, I do it because I know there's recordings out there of shows I've been to that are also uncirculated. I "hoard" the recordings I've got because they may someday be used as leverage to get those recordings I am after. Additionally with the Alice gigs I'm "hoarding" - they're my own recordings. In that respect, when it really comes down to it, no one can tell me that I don't have the right to keep my own recordings to myself. 2 of my Alice recordings I'll likely never share because they really didn't turn out well, and I'm not going to put inferior recordings out there with my taping/trading name on them.

Do you really think even in my scenario it's unjustified to hoard? I know absolutely none of this applies to most GN'R hoards, but I'm just saying I think it's unfair to paint the picture that all hoarders are evil :shrugs:

Took and uploaded some videos to YouTube of a Serj Tankian gig I went to back in October, was immediately contacted by a Serj/SOAD hoarder. He contacted me again recently, I'm only just about to reply (he's offering other Serj/SOAD vids or money). I just found it so bizarre since I only hear about hoarding of vids in the GNR community. Shame he doesn't have any GNR stuff :/ I'll ask if he knows any hoarders that do, though.

EDIT: This is the guy's trading page. Anything you guys particularly want?

Some still claim video of the 1/1/01 gig is out there somewhere. Who knows...

That video exists. profesionally filmed, i've seen some pictures for evidence

There were pro photos from the 01-01-01 gig released relatively recently, I feel like it was around the 2011 tour or thereabouts, could've been sometime last year.

For a few years now there have been photos where someone took their camera, played the 01-01-01 DVD, and took pictures of the show playing on their TV. They could've been holding a note or something in the corner, too. And that's what a lot of people took as proof that the DVD was out there.

But the pro photos that came out were the same as the "screencaps" of the DVD. There were only 2 shots of the "DVD" playing on the TV, and there was a whole album of photos from the gig that included the 2 photos on the TV. So, as far as I'm concerned, that disproves the idea that there's a DVD of the show out there.

Anybody know the pictures I'm referring to? I never save photos on my laptop :(

Manets, get in this thread.

Ok I think enough time has past, that was me who did that lol

and it was exactly that, just two photos on a tv screen lol, but it worked

So this whole thing was you?

Off the subject, but Axl's 2002 rehersal voice sounds like how he actually sings the songs live now.

Wasn't there somekind of documentary or short made out of the VMA rehearsal by vh1 which was never released? I remember seeing a short clip of it on youtube.

EDIT: Found it already.

Yup, still an evil hoarder. You're just applying evil hoarder logic to make yourself feel better. It is your recording and you can do whatever you want with it, that part is true. But don't pretend you're doing something noble.

Can't give any help on this one, I think you've pointed out everything already.

And why the hell would they have rehearsaled The General for VMA? Makes no sense at all, it's just some made up rumor that was brought up to increase the mistery around this rehearsal.

The video itself probably has nothing interest. Yeah, Axl's angry, but so what, we know how that's like, there are hundreds of videos of him angry on YouTube.

This. There's even a thread about him angry right now.

Plus, if the snippet from the rehearsal is any indicator, Axl doesn't even try to sing the songs. It'd be worth a watch as something we don't have but anybody would be crazy to pay a ridiculous amount for it.

Add to the list

(goes for 40 minutes, theres a band 'huddle', Axl is angry throughout and they run through each song a few times)

2006 London Acoustic

(sailing was released from the show youtube.com/watch?v=g09q4tPexj8 )

sladdi at newgnr has the full show

2010 Adelaide

a user at htgth has the full show

what other shows we know exist post 2000 from gnr, that are uncirculated?

I'll add it to this post in for future reference?

Sladdi has the 06 London complete?? It's really unlike him to hoard and not share - he's always been a great guy like that. Do you know if it's due to some kind of pressure from the camp?

I can live without hoarded run of the mill DVDs. Pro-shot 2001 Hard Rock/Joint however is intriguing because of the poignancy of the show/Axl's incredible shape/Silkworms etc.

That Welcome To The Jungle from the VMA rehearsal... What the fuck was Axl doing?! And what's Buckethead doing too? He barely moves doing the whole video, and his mask is really awkward.

No famous entertainer exerts any real degree of energy in a rehearsal. Check Michael Jackson's 'This Is It' for example.

I talked to him on msn (back in the day) when he released sailing in full from that show, and I said to him, 'do you have the full thing' and he said yes but never posted it.
