What is the general consensus on Alan Niven and Axl/GnR?

Just wondering what thoughts are on his involvement and opinions. I read this article earlier which I haven't seen before (I'm sure plenty have read it).

It makes very interesting reading on the back of Axl's interview (strange typos but still makes sense). His take on the Slash/Axl power struggle is that Slash wasn't capable of running a bath at the time never mind a band but later goes on to say he deliberately gave Axl the cold shoulder on stage sometimes and was in his opinion very sharp.

He does seem most critical towards Axl. Is this a fair opinion? He does seem to hold Axl responsible for the loss of a lot of personal money so I imagine a degree of bias.

Any thoughts? I haven't read much about him other than in the Slash/Duff books.

Whoever did the transcribing for that... ooof.

There's a few other interviews online.

There's reasons why Alan was let go from GNR that of course he didn't go into.. I think he was good at what he did, but as mentioned, it wasn't someone Axl was thrilled having on board, but I think he appreciates what he did for the band, for having the balls to negotiate with David Geffen and all that.

Thanks I'll have a look for them. I thought it was interesting he got on with Izzy so well. Izzy never struck me as the type of guy that had close friends, don't know why? Probably because he remains a bit of an enigma.

I think it's the opposite, he has a lot of friends that he gets to see here and there at his convenience. I'd be surprised if he even goes by Izzy anymore.
