Does anybody else think Axl is gearing up for a 2013 Summer release and tour for Chinese Democracy II? I might be completely wrong, but I think that's the top secret plan as of right now.

I can't tell if you're serious or trolling or what.. but I do suspect that there's definitely the intention (I wouldn't say plan yet) to release or at the very least record new music this year.

Whether it comes to fruition...? We'll see. The track record obviously isn't great in that respect.

I'm being serious. It makes perfect sense to me with all the Summer festival dates starting to pop up. We all know that Axl has another album's worth of songs that should be ready to go by now. As always, I think it comes down to management striking a deal with the suits.

It would make sense to release something over the summer then incorporate it into a fall tour. However just because it makes sense to us...

I hope if they do that they get in the studio quick with this line up and record otherwise they will end up spending a decade performing largely other musicians stuff and I don't know how long BBF and Ashba will stick that.

They've not announced any European festivals this summer and there are only a couple of US and random middle eastern dates on the horizon. I think if new music was to happen they would spend summer through to summer '14 prepping new songs. European festivals during next summer, potentially debut a new song/acknowlege material is on the way and then bang out a new album or collection of songs Fall '14.

A good promotional move would be to release one new song around November this year to mark one year to the day until the release of the CD follow up.

It feels way to soon to release something this summer considering no hints or announcements has been made.

Maybe they will work on it now after this tour, then go on the summer tour and MAYBE debut a new song then.

After winning even more fans in the US they will finish off the record in the fall and release it for xmas. Maybe they'll make an announcement during the last US show

I think it would be a stand alone EP, maybe one of the songs from it winds up on the next album.

Maybe they'll include a live CD taken from other shows during the residency.

There's way too much talk by people in the camp for them not to have SOME kind of plan/intention going on. Especially when you start getting quotes from Axl himself like this new thing about Silkworms.

I wouldn't be surprised to see something like with CD and UYI. Put a song on a movie soundtrack first, then release stuff behind that. Maybe do one for a summer movie and then release stuff in the fall with "proper" promotion?
