Beyonce... Justin Timberlake...

The ppl here in SA don't want that shit.

Just put GNR with the 3 hour show and everybody will be ok.

Since it's first edition Rock in Rio has had it's pop days.

I'd like to see Axl redeem himself here and totally rehearse and prepare.

>Rock in Rio without Axl isnt worth going to. Axl is virtually the prez of Brazil now.

Obama must appoint Axl as the U.S. ambassador in Brazil

Rock in Rio is overrated.

Name a better one.

Take your pick of any large outdoor concert that isn't overrun by t-shirt swinging Brazilians that like to sing the riffs.

There should be a special place in hell for people like that.

Are you saying Brazilians should all go to hell?

So reading between the lines the people of Brazil are giving him a hard time because he fell out with Axl and now he wants him back because he sells more tickets that way. Axl being Axl probably won't take his calls so he has resorted to calling him a love God or whatever in the press in the hope of winning his heart again. ;-)

rock in rio is overated. it lost its magical appeal a long time ago... well, if Axl accepts not to close a night, then it could work. all headliners are bigger names than gnr. also, no rain please! it makes axl fat and forgetful.

I guess I had forgotten all that 'Indoor Rain' damn.

Oh, sorry if we know how to make a concert awesome. So you prefer everyone there with their cameras filming the concert rather than "t-shirt swinging singing the riffs"?

Guns N' Roses is bigger than Muse and Metallica.

This Rock in Rio has some amazing headliners. Enough to sell all the tickets. So no need for Guns imo. But I would be happy if Guns played always in Rock in Rio Brazil, and when it's in Madrid, we had Springsteen and Iron Maiden.

Rock In Rio will sell out on its first day without Axl Rose. People are delusional into thinking it's going to sell more tickets because of Gn'R. The pre-sale last year sold out within minutes and they had like three artists announced.

Medina knows he's going to lose money if he doesn't have Axl Rose in RIR. Doesn't matter if Axl forgets lyrics or not bringing his a game, the fans there will still pay just to attend a Guns show.

How do you figure that? Axl won't even be the top selling/touring band that would be performing.

You do realize that the biggest selling Rock n Rio was one where GnR DIDN"T perform, right?

And that attendance actually declined for two of GnR's appearances compared to their prior festival appearance, right?

The show had about 40% less in attendance in 2011 compared to 2001.......with GnR being ONE of the headliners.

Having or not having GnR on the bill isn't going to make or break the show.

Manets - I enjoy you as a poster. But today's GnR isn't bigger than today's metallica and muse. Which is unfortunate, and shouldn't be the case. But it is the path that Axl and Beta have taken for the band. Crying shame really.

Groghan, the attendance declined because of security issues, not because of tickets solds. They couldn't sell more than 100 thousand tickets a day, and this year the number is even smaller: 80 thousand.

And guys, camon, Guns N' Roses needs Rock in Rio much more than Rock in Rio needs Guns N' Roses. Axl is lucky that Medina likes him. On 2011 they sold out the who festival pre-sale on a few minutes and Metallica was the only headliner announced. I bought it myself expecting GNR to be announced.

Thing is, how many more chances like Rock in Rio is Axl going to have? If I had to bet, I would say Guns N' Roses will headline Rock in Rio Buenos Aires next year.

For all four shows? Because it didn't steadly decline, it went up and then down and then up and then back down. Only certain years the attendance was effected by security? (Not being sarcastic, I'm just asking as I don't know the answer. It could be the case).

I just disagree with you that GnR is going to have much of an effect on ticket sales. They will sell hundreds of thousands of tickets regardless if GnR plays or not.

The ideal thing would be for GnR to be co-headliner with someone else... the show before the main attraction, but it's kinda risky since they could be late and all...

Yes, only a couple of years ago security issues were brought. On Rock in Rio 3 there were nights like the GNR and the Chilli Peppers nights where there were 250~300 thousand people, and too many people died. Then, the Police and the Firefight dept. started to determine audience size limits. They tried 100 thousand for the next edition, but the Police limited this year's to 80 thousand. Trust me, if they could sell 250 thousand tickets, they would. And it would sell out too.

And you got me wrong Groghan, what I meant was that with or without GNR, Rock in Rio will sell out. Last edition sold out with just a few acts announced.

Nobody died at Rock In Rio. Not once.

I apologize - I thought you were implying something else.

SXSW 2013

Coachella 2013

Firefly 2013

Kanrocksas 2013

Bonnaroo 2013

All have/had MUCH better lineups than RIR.

Muse is the only band I have interest in seeing at RIR.

Brazil should just adopt GnR.
