If GNR really didn't write and record anything since ChiDem like Ron said...

... where does Going Down and Tonto come from?!

Going Down is an unreleased Guns N' Roses that has been on the setlist since Rock in Rio 4 on 2011, and Tonto is a song that was first mentioned by MSL on his blackmail attempt, a few years after the album release. You can listen to Tonto's demo by Richard Fortus here:

Yet, none of those songs had ever been mentioned by any band member before. I also find it very weird that DJ and Ron give answers so different. Well, I hope Axl's plans of a 2013 release do work out.

I would not be surprised. But I can imagine Axl still tweaking the CD leftovers every day since.

And that's how Axl has fucked the quality of every album he's been on since Use Your Illusions. I don't get why. Even all the Chinese Democracy demos are awesome to listen to, compared to final versions which are dead and soulless pieces of shit. 9 more years tweaking for that result? What a waste of time and talent. He would have been far more successful had he released Chinese Democracy as it was in 1999-2000, the songs weren't going to get any better, he had the best new lineup & everybody wanted to hear the album.

Bumblefoot said that Goin' Down is a ChiDem era song. He described this one as "earthy". It was in an online chat at gunsnroses.com. (Nightrain)

And about Tonto, i don't know how old is that song, but that isn't a demo. The song that you posted was written by Fortus for a videogame (don't remember wich) and ended up out of the game.

Not this shit again... :suspicious:

Look he can do whatever the fuck he wants to his own art. If you don't like it then go make your own art.

I believe that version of Tonto by Richard Fortus was confirmed to be something just he did on his own, and has nothing to do with GNR, but there is still a song by GNR called Tonto.

Bumblefoot has talked about Goin Down a number of times actually. It's a Tommy song.

And how do you know Tonto isn't a fabrication?

I thought it was CONFIRMED!! that Going Down was just another cover. Makes the most sense...if it surfaced on a setlist at the same time as Riff Raff.

No, it's not a cover.

Bumblefoot - March 27, 2012

''Goin Down is Chi Dem era, kinda earthy, but let Axl talk about it when he's ready.''

Bumblefoot - March 2, 2013

"Goin Down is slower paced, acoustic-ey, something that Bob Dylan could have done. A Tommy Stinson song."

I get the feeling Axl is never going to be "ready" to talk about it.

Well the fact he positively responded to a fan's feedback about Silkworms suggests maybe he's now more open to discussion about the material?

I guess but I just can't see another album being released. He talked glowingly of alot of unreleased songs in the chats and to this day he hasn't even performed one of them live.

I know what you mean. He seemed to do a u-turn on the topic almost. Perhaps it's a different approach? The Chinese material was played & played. Maybe Axl wants to be certain of a release before debuting certain songs.

Is it possible that some of the titles we only heard about recently could be new titles for older songs? Axl did say all songs have working titles until actual release.

For example, what if songs like "Tonto" and "Cuban Skies" are new titles for "Ides Of March" or "Zodiac" ?

After all, "The Blues" became "Street Of Dreams," "Leave Me Alone" became "Soul Monster" and "Oklahoma" became "Berlin."

First of all, Ron say they didn't write TOGETHER! (like a band)

Second: DJ isn't a credible member. Ron is. Even MSL got more credibilty than Ashba

Btw this mix is pretty shit. If this is really comes from 4tus: there are some good ideas, but overall if they wanted to release this in this form, then, no thanks, pls

edit: oh it's only for a video game. Then, good

So you are allowed to bash Slash's "art"...........but other people can't post their opinions on Axl's music? Why the double standard?

Why are YOU allowed to bash Slash's music, as well as other band's music, but you don't feel people should be allowed to state their opinion about Axl's music? Please explain your reasoning behind this, and how it doesn't make you a complete hypocrite. (LOL, I just read in another post where you said you exposed me for being a hypocrite. Funny stuff, kid. Provide ONE example. Just one. In this thread I show you being a hypocrite. So provide ONE example of me doing it. Just one. Can you do it?)

This is a forum where people are allowed to share their ideas and opinions. Stop trying to dictate to people what they can and can't post. I know you are still mad about not being picked to be a mod. But that doesn't give you the right to try and dictate to people what they can post about.

if guns n roses hasn't written or recorded since the release of chidem like BBF says, who knows when new Guns N' Roses music releases come out

Maybe Axl's experiencing a writer's block once again...but who cares really? I mean there's a ton of unreleased material out there waiting to be released already and I'm pretty sure Axl's more recent hired hands (BBF & DJ) won't mind covering it live. So all good. Edited by trqster

That's probably true. But I go back to BBF saying the tons of unreleased songs is from a guns n roses that doesn't exist anymore. you get the feeling BBF wants current guns n roses to have songs from current guns n roses on the next record. which means it's up to axl when they all sit down and start writing songs together for a new record!
