magisme Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 The Silent Picture BookI'm loving #11. Not sure if it has a name yet. Can't miss with Molokai. He puts out so much, I'm usually listening to more recent stuff to keep up. Quote

Was thinking Racks, but what do you guys think are the best?Racks, 3 Foot Clearance, The Silent Picture Book... these pikes are all amazing. Underground Chamber and Balloon Cement are more like 'deep cuts' though... Not albums you'll listen to that frequently. They require a straight listen. Especially Balloon Cement. That one's crazy. And Look Up There is amazing but it's only two huge songs. Quote

Gordon Comstock Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 Are there samples up for #16 yet? I might go for another of the limited covers... Thinking my next additions will be #13 and and probably the new one. And a few people have said Silent Picture Book, that's on my list too... Quote

Need to give it a few more listens.I remember the samples sounding really cool.Different, as in....? You can't just call a Bucket album "different" and leave it at that Hopefully mine gets here soon, I'm excited! Quote

You can't just call a Bucket album "different" and leave it at that Hopefully mine gets here soon, I'm excited! Did you get it yet?Different as in lots and lots of noodling. Very, very loose, seemingly improvised song structures at times. An entire song where I'm not sure what instruments are being played. It's not as weird as I thought after my first listen, but it's not as approachable as some of the others IMO. Quote
Gordon Comstock Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 (edited) How long are the songs?Still haven't got mine yet Edited June 11, 2013 by RickRoses Quote
magisme Posted June 11, 2013 Posted June 11, 2013 Just realized I've been talking about 14 when I wrote 15. I don't have 15 yet either. Quote
Nosaj Thing Posted June 12, 2013 Posted June 12, 2013 I can't order the Limited Edition of Pikes 17. Quote

It's funny you say that cuz the percussion is more on an even playing field with Bucket's guitar (remember I'm talking about 14, I made the mistake of typing 15 earlier), just like it often is on Balloon Cement, than on a lot of Bucket releases. Although I'd say percussion is generally stellar on most Bucket work. Quote
