So, I haven't listened to any Bucket in years...if someone had to pick 2 or 3 Pikes that are the best of the best for me to dive into, what might they be? Given how many there are that's probably not an easy ask, so whatever happens to come to mind first is fine.

This is a very helpful website if you want to choose your favourite Pikes

Has anyone else had any quality issues with Bucket vinyls?

I've ordered a load of him, mostbare fine, but two of the vinyls delivered a few weeks ago are APPALLING quality, very poor pressings, essentially unlistenable. Just constant surface noise, and cleaning doesn't make any difference. You can actually visually see errors.

I emailed Pikes weeks ago offering to pay for postage myself if they would replace for free... radio silence.

Has anyone else had issues?

Any suggestions on what to do?

I've given Bucket probably 1000's of dollars direct over the years, so this poor customer service I actually find quite offensive.

I've heard that he has outsourced the distribution and accounting to an external company. The bad customer service is not his fault.

I tried to clean the vinyls, both wet and dry cleaning. Poseidon plays better (not ideal, just almost "acceptable"), but Sparks in the Dark is still very poor (constant scratching noise).

I've emailed the Pikes customer service email address again. It's a few weeks since my last email and no reply. I've offered to cover postage if they will replace the vinyl for free. Let's see if / when I get a response.

On a side note - as an FYI to anyone buying these vinyls they contain the most basic / cheap / horrible paper inserts available, which will scratch the vinyl, so I'd recommend upgrading those immediately on receipt.

A rare treat for Buckethead fans who enjoy his collaborations with Travis Dickerson; because of a song being missing from the digital download of the debut Thanatopsis album, Travis has made the album a free download for an indefinite period of time.  An essential listen, Thanatopsis is by far by favorite Buckethead side project and Travis is an awesome collaborator.

Great! What song is missing though?

Just an update on this. After 5 weeks and 3 emails... the Pikes customer service eventually replied and have said they'll send a new copy free of charge. So I'm well chuffed. Thanks guys.

Great to hear that they're following through with you.  I've been curious how many people are helping Bucket out with his website and merchandising, like he should have a decent crew to help him out with distribution and producing other things like shirts and such..

It doesn't feel like he has a big crew? It's always felt like a family / in-house type thing to me, which maybe suits him. To be honest though if he chucked a bit of money at it and built a proper website that was easy to navigate (maintained, and complete with accurate discography, store - not just for music but also t shirts etc like you say, photos, gig list etc), a remote semblance of a social media profile etc i reckon he'd easily get a return on the investment. It just feels like he likes to keep it small.

That's the impression I get, like I wouldn't be shocked if his website crew was just himself and P Sticks.  I've even emailed some website design tips to them in hopes that the main bucketheadpikes page can look a lot nicer for everyone using it instead of a big mess of everything, but it's whatever.

For people that are into Bucket's paintings and canvas card artworks, he recently added a bunch more to his shop.  Things have been pretty quiet music-wise so far this year...

As much as I absolutely LOVE Bucket, and I genuinely do - I pretty much own everything he's ever done - I hate to say it but I think he needs a new creative outlet. The Pikes are starting to sound very stale. Mix it up a bit. I'd love him to play with real musicians again - a la Praxis or equivalent.
