Becket
My wife's friend asked me to look at her laptop, I cleaned it up and fixed some problems she was having except, whenever she goes on a site that she has to log into, when she puts in her password at the far end of where her password goes a little thing comes up that looks like a little eye with an eyebrow. I have never seen that before, anybody know what it is and how to get rid of it? She can still log on though.

gunsguy
I'm reading it now. ThanksAlthough, it's for windows 8 and she uses 7same thing though, IE 10 has this on win 7 or 8 http://www.techfeb.com/remove-password-field-eye-symbol-from-internet-explorer-in-windows-8/here are instructions for windows 7 specifically (same as 8):If you want to get rid of the password eye / password reveal icon in Windows 7 just use the following instructions:In the "Search programs and files" box of the start menu enter "gpedit.msc" (to edit the group policies)... there you open the following tree path: "Local Computer Policy => Computer Configuration => Administrative Templates => Windows Components => Internet Explorer => Security Features"... when you click on "Security Features" directory in the tree on the left you will see the entry "Do not display the reveal password button"... open this entry by double clicking it. In the now appearing dialog you'll have to choose the radio box "Enabled" in the left upper corner and click on the "OK" button. If you start your Internet explorer now the password eye / password reveal icon will be gone.read more here:https://www.google.ca/search?q=internet+explorer+10+password+eye&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a Edited April 11, 2013 by gunsguy
Becket
When I type in gpedit.msc it says windows can't find it. Not a big deal though. She was worried she had a virus or something
