machinegunner
If it is not Chinese Democracy, then WHAT is ??By 'Greatest' I mean in the real sense of the word (not just your favourite...) -- eg. impacted the culture, was exceptionally inspiring across many points of reference... etc.I have resisted the urge to make this another poll topic, because I doubt there are many contenders... sweetness
these days music is way too niche for there to be any definitive "greatest" album of the last decade. There's more different kinds of music now than there ever have been, and now that the internet has granted listeners access to anything they want it kind of makes it impossible for anybody to agree without a doubt "this is the greatest album ever" or anything like that.anyway, imo it was You Fail Me by Converge, it's always stood out to me as an album that is just so complete, couldn't imagine it being any different

merslain
American Idiot comes to mind. I remember it being just about everyone. Boulevard Of Broken Dreams was on the radio hourly it seems. Rock and Pop stations. The album went multi-platinum, when physical media was still a popular way to obtain media. The broadway musical was a success. It's not my favorite, but it's the first one that came to mind.

Johnny Drama
Impacting in the 00's? Can't recall any. I'd probably say The Marshall Mathers LP or The Eminem Show, but I suppose that stretches your timeline a bit. Otherwise, what Chewbacca said.Oh shit forgot the College Dropout

Towelie
Cultural impact in music doesn't exist anymore.Chinese Democracy is the best album of the last ten years IMO
Carne_asaDA
The cultural impact factor makes this difficult to answer. Albums don't effect culture anymore. I have to agree with American Idiot.........loosely.
Guest Len B'stard
Adele the elephant packed her trunk and said goodbye to the circus, off she went with a trumpetey trump, trump trump trump, the head of the herd was calling from far farrrr away she said...uh, something something something on the road to Mandalay, HEY! Carne_asaDA
Can an argument be made for a Slipknot album? I don't follow that band to really know. But it seems like Slipknot, Drowning Pool etcc...and that genre have been the "soundtrack" to the rise in popularity of MMA over the last decade. Also, the music of shooter video games which have become popular as well.

Powerage5
Can't really comment on the cultural impact aspect. But I'm gonna go with A Strange Arrangement by Mayer Hawthorne. It's just hands down the freshest album I've ever heard. It's got this cool old school, nostalgic Motown vibe, but the thing is...it's not nostalgic - it's still fresh and relevant. And there isn't a single person I know (That's heard it) that doesn't think it's one of the best damn albums ever made.

Chinaski
I reckon the first Arctic Monkeys record shook things up in the UK for a while. That's a record that was hyped, sold a ton, affected what was popular for a while and got critical acclaim.
