HisRoyalSweetness
does anyone else hope axl finds something else to sing about on his next album? The lyrical subject matter of CD didn't really speak to me, as I am kinda more into songs about feeling good and not sulking and crying about how everybody hurts your feelings. But in order to write about a new subject maybe he needs new inspiration. Like maybe falling in love and writing about that. Or having a family and allowing those feelings to inspire some new thoughts and lyrics. Sadly it seems like the only thig harder for axl than writing music is finding a woman other than beta to love him. But I'm still holding out hope Edited May 14, 2013 by HisRoyalSweetness
maynard
i would be very happy for axl, honestly. can't stand the crying and whining neither, CD is more emo than a Fall Out Boy album.

Rustycage
Axl is at his best when he's pissed so all of the heartbreak and/or sweet love inspiration Axl has used doesn't interest me. Edited May 14, 2013 by Rustycage
HisRoyalSweetness
Yeah I used to think axl kicked ass. But CD was like a concept album about getting your ass kicked.

All songs about having your ass handed to you and crying about it.

Even if the lyrics weren't sad crybaby shit, it was Axl being a pissed crybaby about imaginary persecution. A flop, IMO.
alfierose
I'm sure it would be lovely for him but has anyone ever written a killer song about being a parent? I'm struggling to think of one but you are welcome to prove me wrong.

Rustycage
You didn't say it had to be about the loveliness, though. Have you ever met a parent that told you parenting was always pleasant?Phil Collins - You'll be in my heart?

izzydoezit
Well that's what children are for On the other hand you got 'Hey Jude' by the Beatles. You also got 'Wild Horses' I think about Keith's child. There must be tons of great songs written about musicians by their children.

HisRoyalSweetness
Forever young is a great song about loving your kid. I think there are plenty of love songs we assume are about romantic love that probably found their inspiration on parental love. they're just written in a way that could easily be interpreted as romantic boy girl stuffYou didn't say it had to be about the loveliness, though. I'd like to hear him experiment with new lyrics in addition to protools and computer blips Edited May 14, 2013 by HisRoyalSweetness
Facekicker
The best thing that could happen for Axl songwriting wise is for him to go bankrupt.
Rustycage
Maybe Axl could draw inspiration from the Chili's rib song.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxI5Ttl9YY0A little bit of passion for food, passion for wanting his baby back. It has hit written all over it.

HisRoyalSweetness
You guys are fucking absolutely retarded if you think good songs can only come from bitterness, resentment and anger. Pull your heads out of your asses and listen to some different music. Go listen to ode to joy. It's a million times the song this I love is. Rustycage
So it's just artistic creativity now and not simply rock n roll? OK.Shit you can find hundreds of country songs regarding parenting. Not every song is about being pussy whipped despite the bubble of Axl Rose. My opinion is that more songs are bred from negative feelings than good feelings.
