Vincent Vega
For those who believe present day (1998-present let's say) GN'R is superior to AFD-TSI era GN'R, can you explain why you think so? Edited May 26, 2013 by Vincent Vega

Blusky Grenfield
Better: They got their shit together and don't fall off the stage during the concerts. They're also more accessable and less 'rockstar' towards their fans.Worse: They didn't write any of the music they play, there is absolutely no artistc integrity or authencity and no spontanity. They're more actors than artists.
bacardimayne
Well their fans are certainly more pleasant.

Just a group of guys whose career highlight is playing in a GNR cover band.
The Glow Inc.
I don't believe they are superior. Obviously the old band had amazing chemistry, amazing songs, and they managed to create gold out of thin air.I love NuGnR simply because I have been a Bumblefoot fan since 2002, because NIN is my favourite band, and because I've loved Primus since high school. In a nutshell, Axl simply put together a band featuring members of my favourite bands. Rovim
The only way they're better imo is technically. They're better players. I don't include DJ in this of course.Other then that, old Guns were superior in every way.Having said that, I love this incarnation too, and the 2002 line up was great. Much better compared to what we have now. Edited May 26, 2013 by Rovim

ITG
Because Buckethead and Robin Finck add something new, especially in all the unheard songs. They're still in the band right?
HisRoyalSweetness
axl is happier with beta and some new guys. And ultimately axls happiness is what should be the most important to us as fans. And I for one and quite content to see axl loving life and living it up with a smile on his face. That guy is clearly in a very happy and positive place, and you can't put a price on that. His band may not be able to write or record a song together, bit I hardly think that matters to axl anymore. I think he's focused on having a good time and loving it all. The new guys support that dream with the same hunger the old guys had for music Edited May 26, 2013 by HisRoyalSweetness
Georgy Zhukov
I think the new band is great for the time. Back then if you are wasted on stage, falling off and passing out you are cool, today you'd be a fuck up. People just want to see musicians play their favorite songs. Album wise, nothing can be AFD. It was the perfect album for the band. They were so self-destructive it was a wonder they even released two more albums (which was basically one double album sold separately) and a cover album. Now you have a stable band but no new material coming out. That could be because Axl doesn't want to do release the songs or he simply can't afford to finish the music and the record company would rather have a reunion. But because we got AFD and UYI I will have to go with the Old GN'R, though the lineup with Fink and Buckethead had potential but they blew it. shotgunblues1978
New GnR is superior to no GnR, which are the two options. For some reason the a very vocal portion of the fanbase can't seem to grasp that concept. A reunion is not happening. Axl is never playing live or making music with Slash/Adler/Sorum again. And he's keeping the GnR name. Get over it.
HisRoyalSweetness
Come on now.... When you watch rio or bridge school or lsten to this I love, you honestly think its better than nothing at all? And even if you do, isn't that such an embarrassingly small victory that its hardly even worth bragging about? trqster
One was a true band with true band members, the other is Axl's band with musician employees. So no real comparison really...

HisRoyalSweetness
Personally my favorite pro new nugnr argument is 'well at least Axl's not dead.' This is very true.
