Fact is Queen had a lot more to them the Sex Pistols ever did. Sex Pistols = pure image, little talent.

We're talking about a band of musicians, not a gang of thugs just strumming haplessly.

That one comment just made this thread the place to be for the next hour of my life.:popcorn:

On topic though I've only ever listened to one Queen album all the way through. Night at the Opera and it was fucking wank!

A Day At The Races for the '70s. Such an incredible record. A bit more streamlined and hard rock than its sister album, A Night At The Opera - a little less overblown.

In my opinion, Races is Freddie's finest hour: Mercury delivers three absolute masterpieces here ('Somebody to Love', 'You Take My Breath Away' and 'Millionaire Waltz') and one great pop track ('Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy'). Also, Tie Your Mother Down is a gloriously moronic balls-to-the-wall rocker courtesy of Mr May - a real 'guitarists' track. The deep cuts also stand-up, especially White Man and Teo Torriatte.

Great album.

Face facts. Sid Vicious got his arse kicked by Freddie Mercury. 'Sidney ferocious' haha.

No man Sid was the real thing, you know, cause he's so cool cause he murdered his girlfriend. He's the toughest prick who ever existed, ask Dazey and Lenny, his cum tasted like honey, you know? Sid was the greatest musician who ever lived, man. You know, like fuck John Lennon, fuck Elvis, fuck Chuck Berry, Sid Vicious was it, man, and no his image had nothing to do with it, his music, man, man, he was fucking Mozart, the world just wasn't ready for a genius on his level, man.

Me you and good old Sidney, Sidney that brave Freddie Mercury grabbed with both hands by the lapels and threw out of the doors of Wessex Studios, striking a blow for decency and propriety and for the morally upright everywhere  Before piroheutting back to the console in earnest to continue his divine mission to bring ballet to the working classes of England

Sex Pistols sucked more balls than Freddie ever did.

On topic, it's a hard choice. I'd probably go with 'Made In Heaven', it's got some great tracks on there and the work Brian, Roger and John done to Freddie's solo stuff was fantastic.

And why not? Sugaraylen, i understand your origins are from thereabouts... Pakistan was it not? do you look anything like Freddie?

edit - on topic - The Show Must Go On is a great fucking song. I also quite like You Don't Fool Me and I'm Going Slightly Mad. All the later albums had great singles.

'And why not?' meant 'and why shouldn't he enjoy a few toss ups with his friends', because big deal

I just ask about your appearance because you have openly discussed how stereotype perceptions have affected you at times in your daily encouters (don't ask me dig out an exact quote, i'm kind of going by memory but by all means correct me if I'm too off base), so I thought you might afford Fred the courtesy on not boxing him in as you have been, for being "different", get me?

'Indian Fred' wasn't an insult, its a turn of phrase, a play on the way gangsters have nicknames, like i might call Dazey Teeside Chris, the pun being centered more around the fact that Fred is not a very indian sounding name, i weren't having a go at him for being Indian, not least because he doesn't look Indian in the least, i only know that cuz i know a little trivia about the guy, what i was having a go at him for was being a fool  Edited by sugaraylen
