Apollo
Would you prefer that Axl and his band tour the world for the next year or would you prefer that they stop the touring and spend some time focusing on releasing a new album?I'd much rather they STOP touring for awhile and work on getting the next album completed and released. It's a win-win for everybody. The fans win.The band members win. They get a chance to add their imprint to the GnR legacy. And, once they release an album, the band can star touring the world again. And when a band tours, it's not like YOU get to go to every show. They might not hit your city for a year or two. I've seen GnR live three times in the last 10 years...........but I've listened to CD probably 10,000 times. Touring is awesome, but an album is something you can listen to every single day.

Apollo
Brilliant thread, Groghan! Finally we are going to find out who all these guys are who prefer touring over a new record! Please follow the forum rules and try and stick to the actual topic. You don't have to ruin and derail every topic on the forum.I know it's important to you to ridicule/educate and win against people that have a different opinion than you do. Or for you to tell them what they "really" are thinking. But please keep your negativity out of my topic.. Seriously, take your own advice. If you don't like a topic, why take the time to post in it?????? If you don't like a forum, why take the time to post in it?Can't we have both? Yeah I know I'm greedy. That is the ideal outcome. But the band can't record the album if they are constantly touring. Each tour just delays the release of new music. Why not take six months off and finish the album..........then go tour to their heart's content. TombRaider
At some point, even Axl has to realize that he just can't simply tour forever.

Guest cbgnr666
One thing I've noticed is the touring seems to doing postive things for the bands overall image both with the public and definetly in the North American press,at least that's how it seems too me.Yeah I look forward to a new album, but the touring seems too be working in the bands favor out there in the real world. It would seem too me that this will be and advantage when or if an album drops. Coma16
I'm convinced an album (or even 2 - one CD sessions and another entirely new) is ready so no need to stop touring.

Axl will have to come to terms with the fact that he's not going to go multi-platinum ever again in the US, unless he pulls a masterpiece out of his ass or reunites the old band. He's gonna have to do it for the music. You know, be an artist.
SoulMonster
I'm convinced an album (or even 2 - one CD sessions and another entirely new) is ready so no need to stop touring.I am afraid more or less every band member has admitted that no record is ready. The remaining songs from the CD sessions exist in various states of completion and they just haven't made an effort in recent years to put together enough songs for a new record. Even still, I don't believe any of them really....
GNR123GNR456
They could release new music and tour behind that music. It'll be a great way to add new interest into the touring, and give us diehard fans something to look forward to.

I don't think gnr's going multi platinum no matter if it is a masterpiece. All I know is that they seem to be getting more positive press coverage and that helps more than it hinders for any future plans.
