Use Your Illusion was actually meant to be a three album and/or a boxset of some description. Remember, besides the - lenghy - double album recorded during the Illusion sessions, GN'R also recorded songs which ended up on TSI (Black Leather, I Don't Care About You, Attitude and New Rose). I think they ended up with 36 songs, so, the original plan was to throw it all out there as a mammoth boxset. Eventually, due to record company pressure, the plan got watered down to a seperated double album with a promise of a punk covers EP later.
